Oh, I'd love to try low carb Kathyx but I love my potatoes so much! Any hints or suggestions welcomed, I've put on 12 lbs. since I started plaquenil but I know it's really from eating too darn much!!

I need a list of GF liquor too because I would like to indulge some on New Years! A good whiskey sounds great.

Patze, best Christmas ever with my kid & hubby. No special reason other than we are all happy. I did get new luggage though with the hopes of surviving a week at Disney in June (I know I'm crazy but I'll do anything for my sweet kiddo)!

I got an iPad!! Really took me by surprise and made me feel pretty guilty as I got my husband a casserole dish that will do hob or oven. I thought he was getting me a slow cooker. Hmmmmm. Also got scrapbooking stuff.
Favourite bit of Christmas was Christmas eve when we had a video link with my son and DIL in Missouri and we saw our grandson having his present 'unveiled'. (It was too bulky to wrap) He's 15 months and LOVES openbing and shutting doors and draws and pushing buttons so we'd got him a play kitchen. (His Mom is a chef) Usually when we are online he spends a lot of time trying to get at the laptop. (Possibly to switch us off!) When he saw his 'kitchen' he was captivated. He really loved it and it was good to see.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Isn't technology amazing! We are so lucky to be able to see or speak to our loved ones thousands of miles away. Anita, what  lovely Christmas gift from your son.You must be so proud of him. When will you next see him?

Scottie, what a joy to see your little grandson with his kitchen. I hope you can get to see him in real life soon.

Nara, spirits like whisky, gin, rum etc are very low carb. If you drink these with sugar free mixers and lots of ice, you should be okay. Enjoy!

Engy, I never considered doing the New Atkins Plan myself. I'd always thought Atkins was bad, but my GP, knowing of my frustration with my weight, introduced me to the new version. I fully reseached it before starting it, and I can say, I have not felt deprived at all.  I read all about the plan here uk.atkins.com. My GP is monitoring me, so I feel confident that I can shift the next 14 pounds over the coming months.
