My wife has lost her eye brows and is considering having them tattoo'd on. What do you think about it?

I have had my eyeliner tattoo'd because I can't wear makeup. I had it done about six years ago or more, and I couldn't be happier with the result.

There is only one person in the entire area that I would entrust my eyes to, and that is the one I chose. I'd heard lots of horror stories about permanent makeup -- PERMANENT makeup.

But I knew several people who had used her previously. She had an excellent reputation. I knew of her before I ever decided to have it done, and I heard many good things about her.

Here's a thought --- every year when I go for my eye exam my optomotrist says, "Oh, did Rose do your eyeliner?" He can see using the slit lamp that I've got permanent eyeliner and he's said that she's the best in the area. Maybe Jan could ask her eye doctor who's the best in your area.

I would love to have it done, but am afraid of how it would turn out.  (Must remember I had bad Lasik surgery and don't need anything more to go wrong with my eyes.)

If Jan doesn't have autoimmune, it might be an ok idea.  Lucy

PS, I feel a kinship with your wife because of our bad knees.  :-)

I smiled when reading this thread. I have been looking around in the stores for the past week trying to find a brow brush and brow makeup to put on with it, and can't seem to find it like that anywhere.

I have to fill mine in some, because of the hypothyroid issue. I can't tolerate mascara like I did years ago due to eye irritation so I use some eye shadow, and brow makeup.

I have given up so much with this disease that a little makeup that I can manage to tolerate makes me feel good at least inside.  :)

I've considered the permanent eyeliner and eyebrows too.
Please Do it with a plastic surgeon or
a referral from the Optometrist
(EyeamDry - great to know thanks!)
not a hair salon.

Haha I've done research!

Also research if they have "Permanent Makeup" certification at least.

BTW
A Tattoo parlor in most states needs to be legally certified too...
unlike some hair salons or nail salons
that have signs "permanent make up"
in the window or have "deals".

Benefit makes a good brow kit or something to swim in or perspire in by Lip Ink Int'l.

Be safe and good luck!

I've had both eyebrows and liner done. I LOVE it. My eyes aren't the worst part of my disease (yet) and one of them waters which would wash away my liner.  I was lucky that the girl was good. At least in the state of FL they are inspected for hygiene on a regular basis.
