Hi everyone,

I now have a new problem. The big toenail on my right foot is turning blue like a bruise. This is the toe that goes numb. It has a big not on the side at the base like a bunion. I don't know if it is cutting off circulation or what. I really don't want to have surgery again. I have had so much. I have Rheynalds and I am wondering if this has anything to do with it?

Anyone else out there having this problem?
Love and prayers, harlin

I'd definitely have it looked at. :o

Could you have hit it on something when it was numb and didn't know it?
Yes I would definitely have a foot dr look at it.

If you have a a toe or a nail that is turning blue without any injury, etc., it is very important to get this checked out. Sometimes there can be a blood clot that forms in one of the vessels that is spasming. If a toe goes without blood for very long it will soon start to get a blister on it and turn black which is the sign of death of tissue.

It might not be anything that significant, but I would think prevention is the best way to deal with it. See a doctor and get an opinion as to what is going on. Good luck. Irish ;D

I hope you called your doctor by now - sounds like something that should be seen quickly.

I have an apt next Wed do u think I could wait till then?

If it was me I would watch the toe over the next couple of days. I don't know how long the toe has been this way or if it happened suddenly or came on over a period of time. You will have to make this judgement call yourself.

Sorry that I can't help you more. One thing you could do is call the doctors nurse and explain it to her and let her make the decision. Good luck. Irish ;D

Well, I haven't called yet. I know, I know I should have but I have been very busy. My daughter and the grand girls stayed all weekend with me. I have my apt on Wed. I am sure she will send me to a foot dr. I just don't want surgery again. I have had so many.  :'(  I know I need the side of my toe the knot removed, it is probably pressing on a nerve. Hense the numbness. Surgery scares me. I don't take anistesia very well. I also need my eyelids done as they are starting to block my vision. Some days I feel like a total mess. Awful for 58.

Oh well, I know and I think about all those out there that have it much much worse than I do. I don't mean to be a winer. We all have our crosses to bear.

I love you all, harlin
