swelling-legs and stomach?

Has anyone else experienced swelling in your legs and stomach? It started out for me as a little edema in my lower legs, especially when I sit for long periods. And more recently, I've been experiencing a swollen feeling in my thighs and stomach. Normal in the morning but worse at night. One day, I gained about 6lbs between morning and evening and 2" in my abdomen.

Anything I can try to do at home, or should I mention this to a doctor (once I find one)?

I do. The abdominal swelling and pressure gets so intense I often can't find a comfortable position to sleep. Hugging a pillow sometimes gives some relief.  My rheumy called this 'bloating'. My primary care doc checked me for an abdominal hernia. They don't seem to understand. I have foot and ankle swelling too, which my primary care doc says is common and 'it's nothing'. I can't agree that it's nothing, it's surely something, and it's not a sign of good health!

I get the same thing, just walking to the store back and forth for like 4-6min makes my ankles and feet swell.
Started taking cold footbaths every time I get home, only way to make it relax again.
And I agree it sure is SOMETHING, didn't use to have it at all unless I walked for at least 1-2h's before so something causes it.
