I miss horseback riding. Both my mares are old and can't be ridden, and my health holds me back from taking riding lessons again. With the muscle weakness, I don't think it would be safe for me to ride.

I also kind of miss cooking. Just can't bear being on my feet for that long, and the chance of dropping/breaking things too.

And I miss having the energy to be able to handle a full course load in school. Miss being able to do yoga like I used to.

For those that like vampires/werewolves/etc, check out the Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher. One of my favorites.

Hi ladybelle,

Welcome to the site!  ;)  I hope you'll find lots of great info., some great people, and a huge amount of understanding and support.

Most all of us know exactly what you mean by sometimes being hard to be satisfied with the things we are able to do now opposed to how we could do things in the past.  I think we all need to sort of "reinvent" ourselves to a point.  It can take time and a lot of patience with ourselves.

Glad that you found us, and we look forward to hearing more from you!  If you want, you could start your own topic and introduce yourself.  More people will see that and welcome you.
Take care,
Melinda

I miss reading books.  I used to be able to read several books at a time.  One on my bedside table; one in the living room; one at work; and one for appointments.  Now I'm lucky to be able to read a couple of pages at a time of just one book.  Blah...

I used to be able to read one book in a day no matter if it was 400 pages thick and I used to be able to lie on my stomach and lean on my elbows while doing it.
I miss the elbow thing the most I think.  :o

I miss being able to draw and paint without my hands forcing me to stop halfway or even sooner.

I miss being able to walk for 4h's and only getting a bit swollen feet, instead of walking for 4min and getting swollen everything.

I miss singing, I used to do it all the time.  :'(

ah, the drawing and sketching is what I miss too.  Hadn't thought of it cuz I hadn't been able to do it in sooooo long!  I used to sing too - alto and tenor.  I could even do the bass part on some songs.  My nickname as a child was Greta (as in Garbo).   ;D

I was a soprano, but people always placed me with the alto's in choirs just because of my voice when talking sounding so low.
So super regret not doing more singing after finding out what I was actually supposed to sing.

Had to write 5 Xmas cards and it took me 2 days to complete them, hands refused to do more than one at a time and needed several hours in between.
They don't do pens fat enough for my fingers to be happy with.   :-\
