Waiting to hear results interpretation ... need a virtual hug

Just changed rheumies, and am now dealing with a very good one. I've been getting much more exhausted, and so she did a much deeper dive and did a lot of additional testing to see what else might be going on.

As it happens, my medical facility posts test results online, and I got the results on Saturday, but my doctor won't be in the office til Tuesday, so I have to wait til then get the interpretation.

However, the results showed elevated levels of B2 microglobulin and LDH, which can be indicative of lymphoma (as well as possibly other things). If I am doing something else, I can actually put the possibility of the lymphoma in the back of my mind, but if I do think of it, it is very scary.

So I could use a virtual hug, as well as any other thoughts people have on interpretation, or even experiences with lymphoma.

It's funny - A few years ago, before all of this Sjogren's stuff, I would be freaking out just in anticipation. It's wild how calm I am about this (relatively speaking) - sort of thinking - well, I'll face it if that's what it is.  I suppose, in a way, that's a gift from chronic illness - you learn to prioritize when to panic!

I am in the same boat new rhuemy more extensive test for sarcoidosis.

Scares the crap out of me waiting. I am going to fax him a letter to please contact my husband with my results.

My darling husband always goes to my appt because i tend to tune out.

I could use a hug also :o

I am sending hugs to both of you.   Yes, waiting is the pits. 

Dry, I hope that your results point to a treatable dx.  I'm sure that other members who have dealt with sarcoidosis will be available for advice and support if you need it.

Warm, I hope the same thing for you, and as a 12 year survivor of non-H lymphoma, I will be here for you (along with several other members) if it turns out that you are dealing with that. 

Both of you hang in there!  I hope your results come quickly.   The fear of the unknown is difficult.

I know...the waiting game can be so hard.  Warmwaters, it does seem that we learn over time not to panic until it might be needed, and even then, we find that we are stronger than we ever imagined.

I hope for both you, Warm and Dry, that you find out results soon and have a treatable diagnosis.

Keep us posted, and know that we care.  ;)

Big (((hugs))) to both of you. Waiting for test results is the pits, however they are often better than we anticipate and I hope they turn out that way. If they don't - dealing with something is better than worrying about it.

I know how very hard it is to wait . . . and wait . . . and wait for something.  It's hard to turn off the chatter in our minds . . "what if it's this?" . . or "what if . . . ?". 

It's hard not to imagine the worst scenario.  But . . . whatever results you are told, you will deal with it, and find that you are more resilient that you thought.

You've also got your "virtual" fellow Sjoggies here - people from all over the globe lending a shoulder to lean on when times are rough, and sharing in your joy when there's times for celebration.
