Hi all! I'm relatively new here. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in February, and a probable Sjogrens diagnosis after repeated eye infections and doing miserably on a Schirmers test.  I have gone through phases of miserable eye pain that seems to be on my lash line, usually one sided. It seems to extend to the inside of the lower lid, and to the top of my cheekbone. It usually lasts for about a week. Is this related to Sjogrens? Im thinking if i get no responses I'll know it's something completely unrelated.

Hi calimar  :)

Welcome to Sjogren's world. Unfortunately Sjogren's and RA quite often happen together although not inevitably. Do you see an opthamologist?  I think its really important to consult one about severe eye pain. My eyes have never hurt like that but they often feel gritty and sting most of the time.

I hope you find the site useful.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Thanks. And yes, I see an eye doc every three months. She says other than the dryness, my eyes are fine!

Still in the hunt

could be a cranial nerve,,, could be TMJ,, could be a paratoid gland,, could be Eye problem,, but with cheekbone pain,, makes me think thats not it,, and you said teh eye doc said everything is fine and well know how right they are all the time,, (tongue in cheek),, no pun intended,,
