harlin - good job on getting a lot accomplished!   ;D

One of the key points professional organizers keep repeating . . . label, label, label!  It sure saves a lot of time (and hunting).   ;)

Today, I'm about ready to hoist the white flag and frantically wave it . . . .  :(

Like the title of Peter Walsh's book - It's All Too Much.  I'm so overwhelmed today with my bedroom.

They came and hauled off my old box springs and mattress today and delivered the new ones.   ;D  Yay!

However . . . the new stuff is in the living room until I get the bedroom all ready for it.

I have been vacuuming and moving all the "stuff" that I store (hide) under the bed.  Do the rest of you store things under your bed?

I'm done with the vacuuming and dusting of all above "stuff".  I "could" bring the new box springs and mattress in right now - but, I wouldn't be able to walk around the bed to make it because of all the stuff on the one side of the bed.

The part that is really overwhelming is the BIG pile of things I had moved from the entertainment center several weeks ago that are STILL sitting on the bedroom floor.   :(  If you recall, I got two bookcases that replaced the entertainment center.  The entertainment center held A LOT of stuff.  Now . . . I have to sort through the mess and find spots for them in the new bookcases.

There are sooooo many papers - things I want to keep - but, I need to group them together, etc.  I really don't want to take the time to do that right now, but if I don't, I know it won't get done for another 10 years.   ::)

I can't blame anyone but myself for this mess.  I just kept procrastinating and now it's caught up with me.

I know I've posted before about going slow and steady . . . well, I NEED to get this done - and get it done TODAY!!   :o

I'm taking a lunch break right now, and then it's back to the grind.

I've got to get a handle on this stuff this year . . . IT'S ALL TOO MUCH!

My plan of action is to "kinda" group things together, but don't take the time to really sort through them (and purge) at this time.  My goal is to get the floor cleared so I can get the new bed in for tonight.  Plus, the new bed is propped up blocking the TV in the living room and "the boys" will not like that one bit!

If I could just keep plugging along at it, I know I will eventually get it done.  It's the having to stop to fix dinner, etc. that slows me down.  Plus, I didn't sleep well last night in the living room recliner (bed was already torn down and waiting in the living room to be hauled away today) and I would LOVE to take a nap - but, I don't dare or I for sure will not get it done today.   ::)

Okay, break time is over - thanks for listening . . . I'M GOIN' IN!!   ???

I'm done!!! . . . for today.   ;)

The new bed is in the bedroom, all made up and ready for me to crawl in and test 'er out.  Oh my goodness, this bed is higher than my old one . . . I'm going to have to get a running start in the hallway to get up there!!  LOL

I'm going to have to buy a new mattress cover as mine doesn't quite fit it as the mattress is thicker.  The old one will do for now, but I will have to get a new one.

I've got 90% of the "stuff" put away off the floor in the bedroom.  I did just kinda stuff things in the bookcase for now.  I WILL go back and go shelf by shelf, piece by piece and purge and get rid of things - but not today!

I am soooo tired.  Just took a shower and am ready to hit the hay - I have to work tomorrow.

Goodnight.  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz  Oh, if you hear a thud during the night - it's just me, I fell out of bed!   ???

I started painting my bathroom back in December, but I ran out of steam and put all the supplies away.  Well, good news!  I finally finished the job!

And I got the room put back together in time for a family birthday party.  Phew!

Next project...maybe the living room.   ;D

(insert clapping hand emotion here) Good job, Carebear!!   ;D

I bet it makes you feel good that your project is completed and you can actually "see" the results of your labor.

What are you going to do in your living room?  Paint?

I haven't touched the 10% "stuff" STILL on the bedroom floor.  (They are in computer paper boxes - so they aren't all over the bedroom - but, they still haven't found a home yet.)

It seems on my days off work that I have enough to keep me busy with laundry, housecleaning, groceries, banking, etc., I don't want to have to "work" around the house.   :-\  Of course, if I stayed off the computer, I could get a whole lot done!   ::)  Some day!

Bucky - yes, more painting is in my future.  But it will take some time to "save up some spoons".

Hope I can still jump in, don't know how I've missed this!

I have a afghan I started for my granddaughter, it is in the first row yet, that I need to do.

Cricket - of course you are welcome to join in . . . the more, the merrier!   :D

When you mention about an afghan you started for your granddaughter - it reminds me that I started a baby afghan when I found out I was pregnant with our son.  Um . . . . well . . . . that baby afghan is only 8" deep by 3 ft. wide - it looks more like a scarf than an afghan.  Oh, and by the way, the said son I was making it for is 16 yrs. old now!!!   ::)

I'd finish it (if I EVEN remember how to do that) and let him use it on his bed - but, I doubt he would like a baby afghan in the pink/blue/cream colors on his bed.  Maybe, "some day" I'll try and finish it and give it to HIS children.   :-\

Here's hoping your afghan gets finished and given to your granddaughter while she's still little.   ;)

Jackles - as hard as it was to turn this project over to others, I'm sure it will be worth it in the long run to get the house ready so you can move in.

I've always heard it said that make sure you have everything done before you move in, or it will never get done.  Case in point - our house - which my hubby worked on after work and on the weekends (prior to me even knowing him).  He moved in and 21 years later - there is still no trim in the half bath, and one of the  bedrooms still has PRIMER on the walls - never been painted!   ???  He got so tired of working on the house that he never finished stuff.   :(

A lot of the rooms have been painted only within the last 10 years!!   ::)  Can we say King & Queen of Procrastination?  It seems the only time we get motivated to get a house project done is if company is coming.  Needless to say, we don't get much company!   :-\

Sorry everyone I let you down this year. I had so much planned for this winter. My basement still sits unfinished. Along with everything else. I have been lucky to even clean anything. Mostly stay in bed as it feels better in bed due to shingles.

Love and prayers, keep up the good work everyone.

Carebear

Harlin - You haven't let anyone down.   Besides, you always have the Spring!  ;)

((Harlin)) - as Carebear posted, you haven't let anybody down. You had an uninvited guest come to visit and who knew they would take up residence with you for over a month now.  :(

With the pain you've been in, it takes all your spoons and then some just to make it through each day.  Forget about your "planned projects" for now - just concentrate on kicking those shingles to the curb!!

Don't worry . . . those projects will still be waiting for you.   ;)

Take care Harlin.

I kinda read this post late but sometimes that is me, better late than never :)  I am coming up on move #4 in 3 years and in those 3 years adding 2 children and seeming to never fully unpack because 'we aren't going to be here long enough so....."

Well, Here is my big list!

1)  I need to downsize before we move and baby #2 gets here in 2 months or so.
2)  move and UNpack our entire house (we will be there for 3-4 years).
3)  Exercise to get healthier and lose this baby weight.....even from baby #1
4)  I will be a new SAHM so I also need to find an identity for myself that doesn't involve my job.

all of these are my big items which of course will be broken down into small 'manageable'  tasks, I will keep you updated

Well my afghan will have to wait a bit longer as I am sick again with sinus infection and bronchitis..

Got meds from dr on Saturday and he actually called me today and wants to see me tomorrow.
Hope I can kick this soon!

Ok, guys and gals........

I have accomplished so much today!

My husband took me out to breakfast, I almost fell over! he, he, he!!!

I cleaned my entire kitchen, living room, and both bathrooms
Dusted my blinds, and both ceiling fans
vacuumed and mopped all of my floors
cleaned out my GROSS car
dropped off my daughter's old clothes at a consignment store

now I need to pick up my daughter from daycare (yes that was the key to my success today)

My daughter and I will do a 'Valentine dinner' (daddy is working late so it is just the 2 of us tonight.....maybe I'll paint her toes pink!

Then I am sure I will pass out tonight and all of my work will be undone by tomorrow afternoon when my husband is home all day tomorrow.......story of my life!

oh, and I have all the tax stuff organized and now need to send it off to our tax guy.......busy day:)

Bucky

Hooty - good job - you got a lot accomplished today!!   ;D

For myself, I find I can get a lot more done when none of the family members are home and in my way.  From your post, that seemed to work for you today too.   ;)

I had good intentions to do many of the things you listed today - but . . . . (and there's always a but . . . ) an uninterrupted nap sounded so much more appealing (I did set the alarm so I didn't sleep the day away - only a little over a hour).  I've done a few things around the house today, but not what I had hoped to have done.

Oh well, there's always tomorrow, right?  :D

It is so disheartening to me to know I have spent the entire day cleaning, doing laundry, paying bills, etc. and the family comes home and by morning the house looks like a tornado came through overnight.   :-\  We're so unappreciated and taken for granted . . . at least I feel that way some days.

Breakfast out . . yum.  I think I would prefer to eat breakfast out than go out to dinner in the evening.

Enjoy your Valentine's evening with your daughter.  I bet she would enjoy having her toenails painted by Mommy.

Good job on the tax papers, etc. - that's still on my "to do" list.

OK, Little-Momma-in-waiting, take it easy and don't overdo it too much.

Bet you'll sleep well tonight.   ;)

Oh, Bucky.....

I hope that I do sleep well, that has been eluding me for a bit and I will be honest, I think I am starting into a flare up.....I just keep pushing myself, I have so much to do and so little time.  I am trying to push off Prednisone as long as I can.

Just for the record, my daughter has been home for less than an hour and the living room looks tornado stricken, lol.....it was short lived!
