Hi Meld,

No offense taken at all.

To 4kids and other moms of young children,

My friend once described parenting as the "toughest job you will ever love" and I agree. What parent has not been tired, distracted and frustrated by the constant demands of parenting?  We are human, so we cannot be perfect in parenting or in anything else for that matter.

The part of this thread that caught my attention is the common emotion we feel when we see something happening to a child that is not right. It is uncomfortable.  Our judgment of the situation nudges us to respond in some way.  As we know, children are vulnerable and sadly, they are sometimes neglected and abused. I've heard children of abuse describe later in life that there were adults who "knew" and did nothing. This is a double betrayal in their eyes and very hard to overcome.

So, if this topic is upsetting, that is probably good, because it shows that you care.  If it helps even one child on one day then we have made a difference. Please give your kids a hug.  They grow up all too fast and will some day raise their own children.  The big benefit for your efforts, I hear, is becoming a grandparent!  :)

My praise to every loving and hardworking mom and dad!  Happy week-end.
