What a night!   :o

I'm suppose to work today and I'm already exhausted from being lost and trying to find our son.

This "lost" was part of a dream . . . more like a nightmare if you're lost.  I woke up this morning with my heart beating soooo fast - you know the kind, where it feels like it will pound right out of your body.  If anyone had been home, I'm sure they could actually "see" my heart pounding in my chest.

In this dream, my son and I were somewhere . . . I have no idea where.  It was a huge place we saw while traveling and decided to stop.  I can't even tell you what state we were in, what town, or anything, as I don't have a clue where we were.

I've never been to the Mall of America, but I envision it was probably something huge and massive like that.

I know this place - I'm not sure if it was a mall or what it was - had several floors.  They didn't have any information on where things were (arrows, signs, directory, etc.).  I remember there were all these different ramps to different places (in a way, it reminds me of going to a huge airport and trying to find your way around when you've never been there before).  I kept stopping to ask people how to get to the top floor and it was even hard for them to try and explain it to me.

After a while, I thought, duh . . call him on the cell phone and see where he is or ask him for some landmarks where he was so, I could try and find him.  The cell phone didn't work inside the building . . we were roaming!  Duh!!  I knew that!!   ::)

Somehow, after going in circles for an hour-and-a-half, I found my way to the top floor.  I still couldn't find our son.  I found this one guy who obviously worked here and I was waiting for him to finish talking to another person when I woke up.  I had my sons picture in my hand to show him.  Grrrrrr

So, my son is lost somewhere in this place . . . I can't find him . . . I've woke up with my heart racing, I have to go to work today . . . . .  :-\

I tried to go back to my dream so I could find our son, and couldn't.  I'm wide awake now.

I can't even go to his bedroom here at home and check on him and make sure he is safe and sound, because in reality, he is 3-1/2 hrs. away in Chicago to watch his cousin in a school state tennis meet.  He did text me last night and I know they made it safely to the hotel, so thankfully, he isn't lost in real life.   :)  It's an awful, awful feeling to have lost someone and you can't find them.

~~~~ yawn ~~~~
Bucky - who soooo wishes I could stay home today, but can't   :(
P.S.  Good luck trying to find my car in the parking lot of this place . . . wherever that is!!   ::)
I SO know what you're talking about!!  It leaves you feeling rattled for hours after you wake up and for me, I'm wondering where the heck my mind was going with it for me to have such a dream.
I'm with ya on the not wanting to go to work idea.  Thankfully, this is my Friday and I'm in for half a day. I'm going home and going to bed!!!
Oh, Bucky, I hate those kinds of dreams.
Do you think it's a Mom thing? I have those dreams an awful lot, searching, searching, searching. It also makes me think that you're worried about your son but trying to not show it --- but your subconscious can't push it away.
That plus having to go to work and the stresses you have there.
No rest for the weary!
Blessings to you today, my friend!
Oh yeah, I didn't think of the mom factor.  Very well could've been!
Oh, Bucky, I had a similar dream last week, and it upset me for the following day or two.  I dreamed that I witnessed my granddaughter's kidnapping but woke up before I had a chance to catch up to her and the kidnapper.  When I woke up at 4:30 I was tempted to call my daughter to make sure things were okay.   That would have been an interesting call.  ::)
Like you, I spent the next few hours trying to "finish my dream", but I could never decide whether to run or drive my car.  :o
It's totally a Mom thing. When my son was in the Navy 2002-06, I had dreams like that all the time.
Is it bedtime yet?  ~~~ YAWN ~~~
I survived the work day - but, this evening I can hardly stay awake.  As soon as the laundry is done in the dryer, I'm heading to bed and it's just after 8 p.m.   ::)
Five minutes ago, our son called home . . . of all things, he called FROM A MALL!!   :o   ::)  Oh no!!!  LOL
Hopefully, tonight will be a dreamless night.  Although, I tend to dream nightly - and I usually remember them too.  I also dream in color - do you guys?
Sweet dreams . . . . . zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
