I want to start making smoothies & juicing.  Any recommendations on a processor ?

I purchase my carrot juice at Costo. It is so much more cost effective. As far as I know there is a difference between a juicer and a blender. My wife had to find a blender that would crush ice for her smoothie's.

When I was juicing, I would do a couple of pounds of carrots for 6 to 8 oz of juice. Most cheap juicers last for 300 pounds of carrots or less. I think that Jack L. labeled a good one. If you want a sugar high, 1 banana and 1 apple.

I think I went through 3 juicers before I found Bothouse at Costco.

Hi,
I have a juicer and a Vitamix blender.  I prefer the Vitamix blender over the juicer hands down.  It's extremely powerful and can do all kinds of things like make ice cream and soup.  I love using it for smoothies.  I've put kale and other veggies into it and it blends perfectly.  It's a bit expensive but I got mine from QVC when they were running a special and it wasn't too bad cost wise.  Now that we're getting close to the holidays, if you watch QVC, keep an eye out for the special to come back.
