Hello!

What are you currently crafting or have plan to craft for fun or for the holidays?  ;D

I'm still wondering what I could make that is small and mailable... e.g. light and perhaps fits in an envelope 8x10.
Scarves, ornament, cards??? oh my ;)

Hi Paperdoll,

Lets see....I'm currently working on a massive 11"X14" needlepoint, and its going to take a year or so (very intense as it has almost a hundred different colors).  Whew, what makes it so slow going is that I often don't see well enough to tackle it for a few days or more at a time.  Bummer.

A66ey,

What a great idea!  ;)  I love it!  These would fit the bill for being small and easily mailable.  And not too much sewing or expense.  We may have to try it and post pics of our "craftiness."   ;D I suppose you could even put a piece of soft fleece inside, too, if you wanted.
Thanks for posting the link.  Looks like it has some really good ideas.  Now, to look for some sweaters!

I so want to try felting... unfortunately I did not get crafting as had a mean flare but I love these ideas for later!
Esp want to attempt felting...

I admire needlepoint... I bought some some cute (mind burp) those things you put under drinks to protect the furniture for a friend :D

Ahhhh, coasters paperdoll?  There are some really neat patterns for them out there.  If you complete them, post a picture as I'd love to see them!

And its good to see you back on the boards!  How are you doing?

I decided this year to keep up a small white Christmas tree and decorate it for each holiday because I like to torture myself  ;D I like to make things out of felt. So, decided to make felt ornaments for each holiday along with maybe some matching lights or whatever else I can find to decorate my little tree with. Just a small project to keep me moving hopefully.

Ha ha I understand :)  Ooo the felt toys and decoration are so cute to me!  Great idea to keep your mind happier,  creative and artistic too.
Oh I did buy some paints and tiny canvas' so I wouldn't feel to much pressure to fill them. So now I am looking at some photos I took for inspiration :)

If you haven't joined Pinterest.com, do it!  It's fantastic for finding all kinds of craft ideas (and tons of other stuff) & organizing the information.  I have a "board" that is strictly for photos I've found that would make great paintings.  If you need an invite let me know!

I know it's after Christmas, but I love that felting project. I bookmarked it. It is the first one I think is so pretty, and looks comfortable too.

Each year besides whatever else I give my daughter in law for Christmas she knows I always get her some house slippers to wear around the house. She loves them, and I always wish I knew of a pattern to someday try and make her a pair.

She crocheted me a really pretty winter cap to wear outside in this cold. She likes hats and has me wearing them too.

Last year I crocheted her a scarf, but this year for her birthday which was January 2 besides a few other goodies, I made her a needle book out of felt, and added a little fold over tab and button. Added some needles, pins, and safety pins, and I hope she liked it.

I have been crafting and still working on a quilt since being retired. I love it.  :) I have been having a lot of trouble using the sewing machine my mother gave me a few years ago.

I can't seem to get the tension right or something, because the stitching is always messing up, stopping my sewing, etc. I have used machines before so it's not like I haven't done that.

I mentioned to my dear husband that someday I would like to get a new, but reasonable priced machine of my own now that I love sewing and crafting. He said, "oh good" he had been wanting to get me one, but said he didn't want to take anything away from me having my mom's machine.

I told him like wow, no it's ok, and that I will always keep mom's machine, but would love one that I can sew freely on.  :) :) He already has one picked out and showed me. It is a modest $150.00, but will do everything I need and want.

I am so excited!! I guess it's silly, but I have always had the kind of personality that always put others before myself.

I look forward to this year making some things slowly along throughout the year, and then not rushing next Christmas, and also for birthdays etc.

Hi  :)

I think I'll be crafting for the rest of the year! I've had loads of 'crafty' gifts for which I'm very appreciative. Books with good ideas - decorative paper and a 'quilling set'.

Take care - Scottie  :)
