Joe S.

I know you have helped a lot w/natural remedies for a lot of things.  I would really appreciate your help in figuring out what things might help me get a better handle on my issues.  They might even help others, too.

Joe S.

How much pain are you having and where? I use 6-8 oz Carrot Juice for endorphin creation. For RA pain I use High Active Dark Cherry extract, dried dark cherries, or pure black cherry juice.

Are you experiencing Anxiety? Depression? I use CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)..."Feeling Good" by David Burns has a lot that will help.

Vitamin D3 helps to support my liver and immune system. I take vitamin C for healing and may eat fresh garlic toes. I take B12 to help heal my nerve damage. I take magnesium to help stop muscle cramps and spasms. A Centrum Silver every day just for background support. A daily Inositol helps me take the weather cycles out of my pain cycle. Since I can not take fish oil, I take flax seed oil.

I sleep or meditate at night with my polar fleece mumps scarf. It keeps my saliva glands, Parotid glands, and ears. It looks strange but it does help. Sleep is often a problem for me so I meditate. My technique is simple. I find a comfortable position, and with my eyes closed look to the top of my head. Breathe in and think, "I am", Breathe out and think, "calm". I repeat this if I wake and it is still night.

I do range of motion exercises to try to keep my joints loose. I have done Tai Chi and Isometrics. Strengthening exercises can create more pain and other problems so I avoid them.

I have used Activated charcoal and dehydrated apple cider vinegar to remove toxins from my legs. It also helped with neuropathy. The real changes started to come after reading an article in "Readers Digest" about brain fog. I started using Alpha Lipoic Acid and Aceytl L carnitine. R lipoic acid is better but I have a supply of Alpha Lipoic Acid to use up. Some people with thyroid problems may have trouble with this. A child with MD used this to reverse his MD. Mayo is studying his case and the use of these supplements because it was so dramatic.

Check all meds and supplements for adverse interactions and side effects. I have seen Rx meds create lots of additional problems. I know that Drugs, supplements, vitamins, minerals, and herbs can have negative interactions.

When I facilitated the Fargo Chronic Pain Support Group, we found that Reflexology worked for everyone. Some people respond better to cold massage (Nerve issues) and others respond better warm massage (soft tissue). I leaned pain erasure, energy work, body reflexology, yoga, breathing exercises, biofeedback and meditation at an alternative pain clinic. My chiro taught me how to do some adjustments and lymphatic drainage massage. My wife's twin taught me some manual stretching to help myself and my family. I have a 15 minute special that seems to help a wide variety of conditions for others.

I am a trained Reiki Master Teacher and I use Reiki on myself daily. I have seen it do miracles for myself and others. Reiki will not harm any living thing. I use a zapper to kill bacteria and electro-herbalism to support my body. I have seen miracles from both of these. You can check out my website and listen to tones (electro-herbalism) for free. They are set to 30 sec to reduce download. Play them for 3-5 minutes. Try not to use them more than 5 times per day. If you do use align individual to help you recover. www.chakraforce.com
Tones for Fibromyalgia, Ovarian cyst, Asthma, have done wonders for people. The mumps tones help with parotid problems. I have other tones that are not listed that help with other issues from the CAFL (Consolidated Annotated Frequency List)

I hope this helps.

How does Reiki work ?

Thank you, Joe.

A couple of questions, please.

The dark cherries, do you mean the regular cherries in the store?  I eat dried sweet cherries frequently, and the fresh when they are in season.  Also. in what quantities?

I drink V-8 juice-low sodium, because of my hypertension.  I've had it since I was 20, now I'm 60.

I know about reflexology of the hands and feet--what about the whole body?  How does that work?

I have mostly fatigue and joint pain.  My left paratid flares, my mouth is dry and my eyes just started acting up.

I was diagnosed w/depression and anxiety when I was in the fifth grade.  I am on Cymbalta for depression and joint pain.  I'm on plaquenil, flexaril and vicodin for pain and muscle issues.  Tekterna, Atacand and Norvasc for my hypertension.  I also get fever blisters and cancer soars since I was a little girl.

When I was having my periods I used L-Lysine to help control fever blisters.  I used Evening Primrose oil for hot flashes, too.  Magnesium for help, too.

Where will I find the things you are suggesting?

Thank you--The mumps caps sounds interesting, do I find it on-line?

Thank you so much!!!

Joe S.

Reiki is a form of hands on healing. The trouble with most forms of energy healing is that the healer can "catch" what the patient has. Without Reiki it took me several months to get over the images of being a 12 year old girl being raped by her step father. Reiki provides you with a firewall that prevents you from "catching" what the patient has.

Most people find Reiki to be calming and revitalizing and will fall asleep during a full session. I have seen 75% of scoliosis disappear in one session. It was like two snakes fighting for control of his spine. Eventually they stopped moving and stabilized. The rest of the weekend he had trouble finding the floor because it was so much further down.

I have used quick sessions to help people with bad knees continue their job. One gal broke a bone in her ankle and after Reiki felt so good she wanted to go back to the dance. I called for Paramedics to take her in. The next day she returned with a cast. The Dr told her that it was set an had started to heal before he took the Xray.

Only as many cherries as is needed to reduce the pain.

I for got to say to turn your head when you swallow. This tip I got from Irish.

L-lysine works well for cold sores. The gals on a Fibro Forum said that Evening Primrose would help with Fibro Pain. I started to take but I quit when my wife said my breasts were so large I may need to start wearing a bra. Thankfully they reduced in size.

The mumps scarf is just a long scarf folded in half. It is placed over the top of you head with the ends going through the loop.

Some can be found in your local grocery, drug store (chemist shop). There are many on line stores that can help provide supplement.

As I said before, please check for interactions and side effects.

Thank you so much Joe S.

I picked up some fish oil to try and a vitamin B supplement.  I'll get the D3 w/calcium as soon as I can.

I do take a multi w/iron, already.  As you know I also eat the cherries.  I'm glad I really LOVE them.
YES.  I WILL CHECK FOR INTERACTIONS BEFORE I START ANYTHING THAT I HAVEN'T BEEN ON BEFORE.

I really thought the "breast" thing was cute.  I'll start back on the Primrose oil, after I check on it.

What about vit. E?; pomegranate?  Vitamin C?  Co Q10?  Glucosamin and Condroitin??  What do you take the walnuts for?  Just checking??

YOU HAVE BEEN GREAT!!!!!!

Thank you for writing all this down, Joe (again?).

Two quick questions:  what is the zapper?  and for the tones, do you listen to all 5 (or however many are listed) for 3-5 mins each, or pick one per session...?

As you know, every one is different and what works for one person may not work for another.

I do not take E, I will use it on scar tissue. I take C500 every day. I had a bad reaction to CoQ10 when it first came out so I do not use it. I do not take Glucosamin and Condroitin I have not seen any thing that convinces me about it yet but many people swear by it.

Listen to each tone in sequence for 3 to 5 minutes and that is one session.

The zapper is a method of producing an electrical signal through your body. I use a frequency generator connected to my computer. I can program waveforms, frequency, and durations into it. The generator cost about $250. I have two copper hand holds that I connect up to the generator. The zapper is a direct connection seems to work better than light or sound but light and sound work also. Nasa found that infrared LED will speed heal diabetic ulcers. The tones and colors date back centuries.

I am a reiki master to and have recently begun to do more self-healing with reiki.  When my health started to deteriorate in phases, I slowly stopped doing things including going to a weekly reiki circle and doing reiki healings due to having no energy or feeling too sick or running on no sleep.

However, I started again in March when I broke my foot (due to my JHMS).  I immediately felt the peacefulness, energy, and love that reiki connects me to.  Interestingly enough, the doctor seemed quite impressed at the rapid healing and rebuilding of the bone.  In fact, he took me out of the cast and let me walk earlier than usually done.

For the SJS and fibro and migraines (and whatever else), I like to use it on myself while in a super relaxed, meditative state.  I strongly encourage everyone and anyone to try reiki, as a practitioner or as a receiver of reiki.  Starting up again has activated a greater feeling of hope and control for me.  As long as reiki isn't used as an exclusive alternative to other medical treatments and services, it cannot hurt a person in any way.  In fact, I do distance reiki for my parents and brother in another state.  So hand-on is not necessary.

There are many energy healing methods and since they are all tapping the same universal energy source as it relates to a person's mind and body, any of them would be a plus to experience.

My meds/supplements are in my signature.

I  take D3 but I would suggest a blood test prior to supplementing. I know most people are low in D but it is not water soluable.

I also take tumeric. It is an antiinflammatory. My inflammation levels are now normal due to taking the "Enhansa" version of tumeric/curcumin.

I now take 100 mg of coq10 with each meal.

I do not take a b complex but a methyl B12 shot 2 days a week (at home).

I took NAC for 3 months & do not any longer, I think it helped when I was at my worst but don't feel I need to continue it.

I take 2 nordic naturals fish oil a day. It is also a good antiinflammatory.

I encourage people to use pure supplements free of additives or you are just doing harm in other ways.

I also ask my doctors about supplements. Many times they do not tell you that you "have" to take a supplement but when I inquire they support & suggest them & help me with the dosage.

I am going to my integrative doctor Dec. 26th & I will be asking her about milk thistle for my liver. (long story about my liver issues).

Good health & comfort to all! Carie
