Colly

I just happened on this website yesterday and I've already learned that a lot of my symptoms are familiar to everyone.  Sweating, for one, is a BIG problem for me.  It is uncontrollable and can come on in AC or not.  I did not know Sjogren's could CAUSE sweating.  I have asked my rheumatologist repeatedly and all he said was "it's not the Plaquenil".

Also, sun exposure.  I use to be a sun worshipper but my doc told me to avoid it.  Then I read that it actuallly makes some tan faster/better.  Who knew?  I can't go back to being out all the time but am going to try a few minutes at a time and see what happens.

Thanks so much, I'll be visiting this site frequently!

Welcome!
We all know what you are going through; we may have some different symptoms; but we all feel for each other.  Come back and join us any time.
I, too, have to avoid the sun.  Even a few minutes makes my arms  hurt and i break out in hundreds of tiny red blisters! So, i'm a "pale face"!  Have to wear a hat, sunglasses and long sleeve shirt if I am going to be outside for any length of time. My hubby says I look like a real character ;D :( :'(. Oh well-----  For some strange reason, my legs don't seem to be affected that way- but they don't tan either- just get  ugly brown and white spots.
I guess it's called photosensitive-- my eyes are extremely sensitive to sun and wind, too.

Hi Colly,

Welcome to Sjogren's World!  ;)

I'm glad you happened along and found us here. I think you'll find loads of great info. and some friendly and caring people.  One of the great things about the forum is that some of our issues may differ a bit, but you'll find lots of people who have some of the same as you.

We also have chat times you may want to check into, too. Just stop by, and see who's there. We discuss all kinds of things.
We all look forward to hearing more from you.  Please keep posting; comment or ask any question at all.  We all support one another here like family.

Again, welcome!
Take care,
Melinda
