Patze asked me in the soda addiction post what my favorite flavor of ice cream was. I decided to start a new post since it is summertime, the best time to eat ice cream!

It used to be butter pecan. mmmm
Then it was rocky road.
Love the nuts, lol
I really loved "chubby hubby" Ben & Jerrys but since it's not gluten free I've been addicted to Dairy Queen's peanut buster parfaits!!!!!!

So whats your favorite(s)??

I SCREAM, YOU SCREAM, WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!

I'm going to cheat and say neapolitan - I love the three flavours.

Yum, Yum. Ice cream is my favorite food in my old age!!!

My favorite is vanilla. I love peanut butter on vanilla with caramel sauce. Also love peanuts and M&M's on top of it. I know, diabetes and all that. I have to do this when I have work to do so can work off the high blood sugar.

Then there is the chocolate ice cream with butterscotch syrup. The old time hard pack chocolate that you get at the ice cream store is the best.

Then how about vanilla with peanuts and green mint syrup (forgot what it is called). You all get the picture. I will eat any ice cream but love the vanilla. Also, I crave McDonalds cones and Blizzards from the Dairy Queen. Irish ;D

Ohiocat

i love mint chocolate chip ice cream - especially the Bryer's brand.

And on occasion - cookie dough ice cream.

Coincidentally I am sitting at the computer with a bowl of ice cream!  ;D

I love the Chapman's gluten-free Butterscotch Ripple.

Carie, say it isn't so!  Dairy Queen's peanut buster parfait is gluten-free???   :o  Well, I plan to get one very soon.  Thanks for the great news!

As a kid, my favorite was Mint Chocolate Chip, which I still like. Before I became gluten free in my adult years, I loved Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.

Now that I'm gluten free, it's Rocky Road, hands down. (Breyers) I usually add a dab of peanut butter, or add some diet soda to  make an ice cream float.

Another fav of mine is the snicker's ice cream bar.

It all sounds so good! I'm going grocery shopping today and will definitely pick up some new kinds.

I remember making ice cream at the 4th of July in the old crank ice cream maker at my aunt and uncle's house, that was so good too!

CareBear,
I have never tried the GF Chapman's butterscotch ripple but that sounds great!

Yes DQ peanut buster parfaits are GF, so are most of their toppings.  My daughter gets a blizzard (she has Celiac too) but doesn't get any of the cookie kinds (sticks to Reeses and snickers) and we go inside and order when she wants one so we can ask (and watch) them clean the machine before they mix hers.  I'm not brave enough to try that as even a little gluten CC makes me ill but she hasn't gotten sick from it at all. She's only 8 so being able to have a blizzard is quite a treat when being a gf kid.  ;D

Just plain Vanilla. It is the toppings that I like. Chocolate, Fudge, Carmel, Strawberry are my preferences.

I am sure some of you can remember when churches used to have Ice Cream socials in the summer time. All that sugar and the parents would have a hard time keeping the kids still long enough to eat their ice cream with out spilling some. From this experience my wife came up with her definition of "Smart A..". She and her friend were in an animated intense conversation. My wife had a simple print dress on and her friend wore a beautiful white dress with pleats.  After sitting for a few seconds, a child asked "What flavor Ice Cream did you sit on?" My wife got up and looked but found none. Her friend remained sitting and said "Chocolate".

Sorry I could not resist the story.

Chickpea

Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Macademia.  It has just the right blend of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, plus chocolate coated macadamia nuts.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be available in the UK at the moment.  Or maybe that's good because then I don't eat so much!

I also love ice cream sundaes:  best ever was a Coupe Danemark I had in a cafe at the top of a mountain in Davos, Switzerland about 15 years ago.  Second best is the Coupe Matterhorn they serve in Betty's cafe in Harrogate, York and Ilkley in Yorkshire, England.

Great topic - thanks Carie!

Hi Carie,

I just want to give a big "thumbs up" to the Chapman's brand ice cream.  They manufacture an entire line of delicious gluten-free ice creams.  Unfortunately, they are only available in Canada (eh).  ;)

Good old vanilla with some Hershey chocolate syrup and/or caramel.
If I want to spurge, there's a Starbucks ice cream named Java Chip Cappuccino...oh goodness...coffee ice cream with fudge swirls and little coffee-dark-chocolate chips.  It's awesome!  ;)  Satifies my coffee and chocolate needs to the hilt!

A66eyroad

A southeast Tennessee brand of ice cream, Mayfield's, has a flavor called Moo-ionairre's Java which is coffee flavored ice cream with chocolate chips, caramel and hazelnuts.  Lately, I've started buying ice cream cones to put my Mayfield's in.  YUM!

A66eyroad,

I'm in southeastern KY and I think we have Mayfield's around here.  Now I've GOT to look for the Moo-ionairre's Java!  ;D

A66eyroad

Yay!  You'll have a new favorite flavor!   :D
