Leaving for a short vacation

I tried looking at the calendar to find a week where neither of us has a dr appt.  Well, this week was one of those.  For reasons of Medco not getting my hubby's medicine to him which we waited for since Monday.  Each day they were going to send it 24 hr. delivery at their cost.  Well it's 1.17 a.m. on Saturday a.m. and it's not here.

I called our dr this afternoon and asked that he call in another RX to a local pharmacy so we could salvage a few days of vacation.  He called it in as I asked.  I called the pharm about 7pm to see if it was ready.  Well, they were out of this pill, Tarka.  They called all their area stores and there must be 6 around my area and none had any.  They showed a Meijer in Battle Creek (30 mi) had some Tarka.  By then it was 8 pm and we make the 60 mle round trip to get a 30 day supply.

The insurance said "it was too early" to pick up any pills.   Hubby has been without more than a week and another RX came through that the dr sent in at the same time.  I was flying tonight.  We have 4 or 5 days for a trip to Upper Mich but nothing like we were going to do.  Medco, on about the 3rd day of my calling said Tarka was on "backorder." If anyone takes this drug, I have a feeling it won't be around and you mightwant to ask your doc.  It was $101 cash for generic.  I will take Medco apart supervisor by supervisor when I get back.  I will have a good time. Hubby sai "maybe it's a sign we shouldn't go anywhere."  I said it's not a sign to me and we are going.  Talk to y'all when I get back.   Lucy

Well have a good vacation. I understand you problems with medco. They have screwed me up more than once. I plan on checking out costco to see if I can get a better deal.

Woke up this morning...(sounds like a country song) and just could not face getting up and ready for a long car ride.  Ask hubby if we could postpone trip til a later date and he was ok with this.  He is often disappointed with things I ask or do, but will go along with it.

I went back to bed at 7:am and slept until 1:30.  Now I have to unpack my stuff which isn't too bad.  We can do this trip in a few weeks I'm sure as we are both retired.  It's funny how something like hassling with an ins co for a week can take the juice right out of you.  We will do some nice/fun things around here and take the trip later.  Lucy

Lucy, Sounds like a soap opera with the hubby's pills. Doesn't it just frost ya!!!

I bet that you are just too darn hot to even think about getting out and on the road. We want to take a few days off, but we just heard that it is supposed to be like this all of August and into September. This heat is going to kill me. I just can't take it. It affects my breathing also as my asthma kicks in when I go out in the 70-80 dew points. Whine---complain!!!!

At least we had a lot of rain earlier and now that it is hot the crops are growing. I bet they will all be late though. Just stay inside and stay cool and wait til it cools off---going on little trips is more fun in the fall. Irish

I pity the customer service person @ Medco you reach on Mon. morning!  (Let us know how that turns out.)

I'm glad you listened to your body and didn't push to make a hurried trip when you weren't up to it.   Hopefully you can enjoy it more later when you aren't feeling so frustrated.  Rest up, and feel better!
