Hi

Are any of you Oprah fans?  I guess there are two people . . . people who like Oprah, and people who despise Oprah.

Some times I think she has no clue what "real" people have to deal with day-to-day.  People who don't have gobs of money to walk into a store and buy a $550 pr. of sandals to go with the $900 purse, with the $800 outfit, etc.  People who struggle to make ends meet, especially, with the economy the way it's been these last few years.

However, in the 25 yrs. her show has been on the air - she has covered a wide range of topics.  She has brought awareness of many issues and continues to be an advocate for girls and women.

Even though she is boo-coo rich, she still struggles with issues that face us all . . . . weight.  There are just some things money can't buy!

My favorite shows are when she had "regular", "everyday" people like us on there - and not so much for all the celebrities.

She has launched a lot of careers with her guests - from Dr. Phil McGraw, Suzy Orman, Rachel Ray, Dr. Oz, etc., plus all the authors and books she promoted on her Book Club.

The only show I saw this year was the one where Oprah found out she has a half-sister she never knew she had!   :o  Surprise!

I'm going to try and catch these last three shows this week.  I'm disappointed she is going to cable now, as we don't have cable, so I won't get to see any of her new ventures or programming.

I had always hoped to go to Chicago to catch a taping of the Oprah show - that didn't happen either.   :(  However . . . . I did get called by a Producer once for an e-mail I sent.   :D

Thanks for the last 25 yrs. Oprah.  One thing if for sure, you ARE a hard worker - and you are driven.

I will miss Oprah Winfrey show too! I kind of hope to se a rerun of it, maybe from years back. I don't mind watching "old stuff", programs with her book club, programs with different topics and so on.

I remember when I was a student in the 1990's. I watched her show when eating dinner. (Not a good manner to eat and watch tv - it was a student thing! I never do that now!) I remember feeling som good watching her shows. Sometimes I was crying with the guests, some times I was crying with them. The show has been a part of my life in many ways. I got inspired to read certain books, to lern about different people, and I actually think that I discovered through this show that the grass is not greener on the other side.

I remember in special a tv show from the late 90's. It was about loss, and a boy (??) wrote a poem about his teacher, who died from breast cancer. That poem really got to me. It was something like this: "I cannot understand why you're gone, I need you so much. But them I understood, now someone in heaven need you so I have to let you go". That was the essence. I actually get goosebumps when typing this now. I have forgotten the poem in words, and I have no idea how to find it again. If anyone recognize the content I wrote here, or know where I can search to find it, I'll be grateful if you let me know. I've been searching on net since 2000, and haven't found it yet. It was so beautiful that poem. I actually wanted to use it for my fathers funeral, to at least get inspirations from it, but I could not find it.

I will for sure miss the Oprah show. I have no idea if she will be broadcasted abroad. Probably not? If not everyone in USA can watch it, then I doubt the world might see it.

Hugs from me.  :)

Best wishes Oprah in your new venture.  Her last show aired today.

You know, EVEN with all the money she has . . . she still works!!  She could easily retire and travel and do whatever she wants, yet - she continues to work and find things to do.  I think she would be bored stiff if she wasn't involved in something.

Thanks for the memories Oprah.
