Hi I am Rochester in Kent in England !
Charles Dickens lived here for a while and died at Gads Hill Place nearby.
We live about thirty miles from London, which is handy, but this being a small country compared to the USA everthing is nearby.
Hence the name 'Kentishmaid'.

Noticed this now!! I studied fashion in Rochester some years ago, when the school still was called KIAD!  Loved your beautiful town, and REALLY miss the chocolate fudge shop in the highstreet!
