Bathroom makeover injury

I feel rather silly, and had to laugh at myself tonight. My husband and I have been fixing up our ugly bathroom; painting the walls, wallpapering one side, and started putting down new tile. (just the cheapy vinyl kind)

Since I hadn't felt like working on it at all today, and felt better tonight, I started putting down the stick-on tiles in the middle of the night.  I was doing pretty well; measuring, pulling the paper off the backs of the tiles, and placing them down. If any of you have done this before, the paper on the back is a little hard to pull off.  My hands aren't as strong as they used to be, so it takes me all I've got to pull it off.

So, here I am working away, feeling proud of myself.  :D Then I hold a tile in front of me, pull the paper toward my face (bad idea) the paper comes off and I knock myself in the mouth with the end of the tile!  I see blood, I've cut my bottom lip a little, and one of my chipped and rotting teeth in front flies out of my mouth!  :o  Good Lord! Thank goodness I'm having oral surgery and getting dentures very soon.  Good news is I'm not in pain. Laughing at ourselves is good medicine. I just thought I'd let you all laugh with me.  I'm going to be more careful now...

Melinda - ouch!  Hope you didn't get blood all over your new tile floor!   ;)

Well, you saved yourself a little bit of money - that's one less tooth the oral surgeon has to pull!!   ::)

Glad you're not in pain.

It's amazing what can transpire in a split second when you least expect it.

Yep, it was an OUCH!  No, I didn't get blood on the floor- it wasn't much, but you know, that's one of the first things I thought of!  ;)

I'm not saving any money with the dentist, unfortunately. It just broke off clean down to the gum so now I guess it will be cut out. Oh, well... I got back in there and finished the floor while I felt like it.  I'm not letting a little tile whip me up!  ;D

Hope you all have a good Monday, and no "mishaps" like me.  ;)

Did you at least put what was left of the tooth under your pillow for the Tooth Fairy?!?   :D

eeeeeeeeeeeeek  Melinda!

That is my idea of a horror story.

Reminds me why I don't do anything but scrape off wall paper and paint a little bit.

Hope it all goes well.

The Tooth Fairy owes you big time.

Keep us posted.

Believe me, no respectable Tooth Fairy would want what was left.  :-[
