For anyone who might be interested, here is a birth video on You Tube from a few years ago of a miniature horse:

Both cams are currently up:

Tease is on Baxters Painted Pasture MareStare:

She does like those corners!

Eve is on Pacific Pintos and has "bagged up"---I think that means has a developed udder now:

Opps...edit for correct Pacific Pintos link

Thanks Photo,

I have been wondering if there might be a video to find of a birth. But I will still keep an eye on the cams.

Tease is doing well, is seeming closer to foaling if that is possible.  She still likes corner, almost hiding in the stall, but I do see sunshine peeking in by the stall door---so she'll probably be out for awhile?

I'm hearing there may have been a problem at Pacific Pintos with either Eve or Liberty foaling...one or the other was giving birth when the cam went off.  Cam remains off now...let's hope it is only tech difficculties.  Owners will often turn a cam off if there is a problem though.  We'll keep the good thoughts for now.

Thank you for posting Always...glad you have joined us...welcome!  :-)

Kay learned and posted:

"Sounds like a hip lock with the cord wrapped around the foal. We too lost one of these years ago. They are so hard to get out.

For those that watched Stars foaling, Jack was also a hiplock but thankfully we had 3 of us in the stall and were able to get him out.

With hers being a red bag (placenta came out first) hip lock and the cord twisted, they only had minutes to get that foal out.

So sad.

But this is why we watch and watch and watch!"

Liberty's colt seems to be doing well even if he doesn't always find the right end when bellying up to the milk bar!   :D

Hi,

Sadly Eve's foal did not make it.  Eve will be fine.

Thanks Photo,

I am still keeping up with Tease.

I watched the sweet video of the little foal that while trying to get up, got up and did a complete roll over. So cute.

Kay posts:

"Tease is just a bear tonight. Not sure if anyone saw her try to kick me with both back hooves, but it was not pleasant. LOL> Im kinda shocked as she has just never been so hateful.

The only thing I noticed is her vulva is finally elongated. One good sign!"

Morning all.  Tease is still with foal in her not out!   ;D

Kay just posted about 8 Eastern a.m. that she would need to have the cam down for a few hours---but all is OK.  It's just that something she needs to do online now doesn't 'get along' with placing the cam stream online.

A link to Lakota's foaling is now available! The link to the link is here toward the bottom of the page (reply 381):

I'm not posting the You Tube link directly as when I looked at the video it said at the begining not to share without permission. As a moderator posted this on the public forum above, that indicates to me that it's OK for us MareStarers to be lookie-loos here and we are just asked not to be peeps that, for example, turn around and place the direct You Tube link to our Facebook pages.

Kay is finding that her online work is taking much longer than she anticipated.  I'm hoping she may take a break though and put the cam back up for a bit.  There is evidently a storm coming there and Tease will be in the stall then for sure.

Liberty and her colt seem a bit more comfortable today.  FYI, colt's name is Pacific Luv That Jazz.

Kay says:

"Break timeeeeeeeeeeee

Tease is out on the grass pasture stuffing her face full of grass with the other piggy mares. And you wait she will come in her stall like shes starving lol.

Mine do eat pretty good and that is why my hay guys adores me. "

and...

"I hate to see a foal born before 320 as that is pretty early (even at 320) but yep they come when they come. [refering to Deelite I think.]

Or like Tease they bake forever. I wonder if this one will be like Shammy and immediately get up and nurse and then zoom around the stall LOL. Those over baked ones seem to be so dang mature."
