A few things from Kay yesterday:

I have not had the heart to turn the cam off. The really strange thing is that cam never stays running this long (as you all well know!) I am shocked that it is still going. I have not restarted that computer since the day before she left. Im sure it will stop soon but until then I am leaving it alone. I think though we are going to totally clean the stall and spray it down with farm disinfectant in anticipation of Annie and Tease coming home

She sure doesnt like that neck bandage. She kept rubbing it trying to get it off. I told her that was making her well and to leave it alone!

-----------------------

Annies doc is an Aussie! I lover her accent and shes so pretty. If you look at that first pic she is the one with her hair in a bun telling everyone else what to do.

When Dr Muese [NB: this is the male vet who worked so long with Annie and Tease, partner to dr. above :)] came and took Bailey out and put Tease back in -- Bailey was yelling!! She was not happy at all. By the next day she was okay with it again. Made me feel guilty. That was when Dr Muese said a mare like Bailey that will mother other foals is worth her weight in gold.

Kay also said, regarding the last video:  Watch her nose and you can see how high her resps are. This place is airconditioned and she has a fan

We are cleaning Tease & Annies stall and going to spray it down with disinfectant. Also have to clean the rest lol. Big storm moving in though so that wont help.

I also need to clip Shammy as her foal coat is making her way too hot. I played with her in the barn for an hour last night as she and Jack are feeling very neglected (but mostly shammy)

----

Foals many times take forever to shed their foal coat. Her legs are all shed out and a stunning deep deep black. But her body just wont shed even though we brush and brush.

When I was out in the pasture yesterday she came running to me! It was the cutest thing ever. then when I was going to leave she kept standing in front of me blocking me.

--------

Rusty kept saying [Shammy] wanted to come in and watch tv with us.

Shammyis HUGE. We have never had a foal this big lol. I suspect she is already 37". It just cracks us up how big she is already.

-----

Rusty has surprised me by saying he is taking me to the Ashland show so I can see all my friends that I havent seen all year. We were supposed to be showing there until our sweet Annie ran into issues.

Im so excited! I will update Annies vet status via my phone but again it only posts to Facebook cant get it to post to here.

If anyone is around please copy and paste it here. [done! My repl #650 here:)]

She doesnt usually call till around 11 am and we will be on the road.

I have the best hubby in the world! He said we were both due a day of fun and see our friends that we havent seen since last show season.

Update from Kay:

The vet called really late today...Annies resp rate is still way too high The longer it stays high the more concerning it becomes. I gave permission for them to go ahead and xray her lungs in the morning and they will run another IGG test. She promised to call as soon as they get results. Shes still very bright eyed, playing and nursing. And she said she is getting plenty of petting and loving on. She said they all laugh when they hear her slide across the stall. Their stalls are plastic under the straw so annie alwasy goes sliding across when she gets to running too fast.

CAT1962

Darn, I missed another one! LOL I'm such a  ding dong. :) Beautiful mare and baby, though!

Praying for Annie!

Sorry you missed that one Cat---It was a small stall with not a very good view.  But it was kaind fun seeing a live cam from the Nertherlands!

The cam I'm watching on and off with a low alert is from Codrington, Ontario :)

We are a small family run operation that have horses for the love of them.

Their web home page begins: "We take in a couple of rescues a year and rehabilitate them and then send them to good homes to make room for the next ones. We have been doing a lot of work with Laminitis prone horses/ponies this year and we are having much success.

We offer boarding, leasing and short term lay-ups."

Interesting tid bits from Kay:

Shammy is actually coal black now. Its funny because Black horses are always born grey and grey horses are always born Black lol

--------

many were lost [mares and foals, before cams] I so remember sitting in the barn all night trying to stay awake. I remember another time I ran in the house to get more coffee and in those 5 mins the mare foaled. They are so tricky! They really do not like being watched so this is what makes the cams so invaluable.

My life has been so much better since we got cams. And then when when we were able to go "live" and have others help watch it got even better. Its so helpful with the different time zones.

---

I think we have had cams for 8 years and 6 years live. Its so funny to remember back when none of this was possible
