Kay writes! Many prayers for you all! :)

Annie is leaving soon for OSU.

Problem now is we have to hurry and get here there before russ has to go to work and we have that storm hitting right now. Ughh such bad timing.

OSU said because she is now limping hours count and they have to get their hands on her asap.

I think this is where Annie Joy and Tease will be:

Mary Ann - thanks for keeping us updated.

Best wishes to Miss Annie and the team at OSU that they will get this infection under control and Miss Annie will recover and return to the farm and enjoy many, many years of running and playing in the pasture.

From reading some other posts - Tease went along too so she could nurse Annie, and both of them would be under less stress from being separated, right?

Give our best wishes to Kay and Russ.

Yes, Bucky, Tease DID go with Annie Joy, I'm sure for the reasons you mentioned!  :D

There were bad storms in the area---hope their travel is going or went OK...

I love it that Tease is calmly giving her two cents worth!  :D Whew, it was a long time coming for Tease to recognize that all the stuff done to her babe was to help!

I'm glad they are at OSU getting more help for Annie.  It is probably her best chance.  Sending more prayers her way.

Kay has just filled us in on QB!

I dont even know where to start but exhausted so forgive me if there are not a lot of details

We were 5 miles from OSU in downtown columbus when the trailer came off the truck. I have never in my life seen anything like it. At one point the trailer was airborne and I thought it was going to flip. Thanks to hubbys cool head we got off the hwy, called osu, called police. Osu met us roadside and assesed annie and tease and led us to the hosptial very slowly. Apparently we did not have the right size ball on the trailer.

This is why there was a huge rush when we got there to get annie taken care of and sedate tease.

All of us are okay and thats the most important thing

OH and all of this during a thunderstorm

After getting annie assessed and started on treatments they were cautiously optimistic.

The head vet will call me later tonight and update me on all the blood results etc

I love you all so much and your messages and calls and prayers mean so much to russ and i. I am going to update facebook and then maybe have a mini nervous breakdown (just kidding but I may go to bed)

From Kay :D

I tossed and turned and tossed and turned and then gave up. LOL.

Good news is I just got a call from Annies vet. Her IGG was only 319 which is deathly low. She got an immediate plasma transfer. This is probably why she was slowly going downhill. They will give it to her every day until Sunday. She said with just the initial dose she made a huge rebound. She is playing and running and everyone at OSU is in love. No fever and she is hardly limping at all.

Im sooooooooo happy

Yay for Annie!!   ;D

Wow, how scary that the trailer came off the hitch!   :o  I'm glad things turned out the way they did . . . it could have been a real disaster, especially in a storm!  Good job Russ on keeping your cool and safely getting the truck and trailer off the hwy.

I know how Kay feels when you are dog tired and all you can do is toss and turn, toss and turn.  Hard to turn the brain off from all the recent activity so she can rest.  It will come!

Our little Annie has such spunk . . . once she gets the meds she needs, I feel she will be on the road to recovery.  Hang in there little girl . . . we're all routin' for ya!!  Miss Annie has got Aunties and Uncles by the truck-load!!  Anyone who meets her, falls in love with her (even if it through cyberspace)!   ;D

Annie is such a little fighter.  I just love her spirit.  Glad to hear she is doing better and responding to treatment.  This has been quite to adventure, going from just watching out of curiosity and love for horses, to becoming so attatched to this mare and foal.  They are like a part of my family now!
