Yep, it's official . . . we have a girl!!   ;D  

Guess what Patches is doing at 11:50 p.m.?  Eating, of course!!   ;D  That's our girl!!

Baby is trying to nurse.  

It was so sweet to watch Patches licking her baby, and the baby finally standing on her own.

Again, congratulations to the Baxters on your new addition to the family.  Just think - you get to do this again this week with Star!!

Thanks for letting us join in the anticipation and actual birth - that was so cool.

Question - what was that powdery stuff you put down in the stall after the afterbirth and hay was raked up?  Was it some sort of neutralizer or something for the blood or smell of giving birth?

Boy, I would have an awful sneezing fit with all the dust from the hay and the stalls.

I wonder how long Patches & baby get to stay in the birthing stall since there are two other momma's-to-be in waiting?!?  Does she get to stay 24 hrs. (like for us humans in the hospital - at least that's how it was for me when I had our son) and then she moves to her "regular" stall?

So many questions . . .  ;D

It was so cute to watch the little one walking and running around the stall today.  I, for one, am thankful that human babies can't be up and walking and running in less than 24 hrs. after they are born!!   :o   ;D  Oh boy . . . that would sure cut down on the human population if that happened, wouldn't it?!

I'm in love with this little one!  She is so cute and Patches is such a good mama too.  I could watch the two of them all night!

Right now, Patches is laying down and the little one is playing "ring around the rosey" going around and around her mother.  She's trying to figure out where the milk supply went!   ???

The little one will keep sniffing Patches.  She put her head over the neck of Patches, hope Patches doesn't stand up or she'll knock the little one down.

It's fun to watch the little one trying to figure everything out.  So cute!

I see that today is the changing of the stalls day.  Patches and baby will be outside today and then into their regular stall. 

Wonder which mare will be in the spotlight next?  Star or Tease?  Hmmm, wonder what happens if they are both delivering at the same time?

Another question I'm curious about . . . what happens if we click on Barn Alarm Low Alert or High Alert?  Is that if someone is watching the cam and assistance is needed in the stall and nobodies there? 

Have a happy life Patches and baby.  Does the baby have a name yet?

I know, questions, questions, questions.  (To think when I was in school, I never raised my hand - I'm the quiet one.  No comments from the peanut gallery!!   ;))

Yes, they will try to show the other foals birth, as well.  You have 2 more chances to catch it live.

Ohhh boy here we go with rounds 2 and 3 for more babies :) Have to keep the laptop open at all times with the cam website up haha Friday my daughter gets induced so I'll get to see a human in between  ;D
