Regarding Amanda at Sommer Pony Farm...

http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=sommer

Owner, on her Marestare thread today:
"She has had a full moon and plenty of storms. Will nothing trigger her to foal? When I gave her the manual, she proceeded to use it as bedding and went potty on it. *sigh*

I will be out of the house this afternoon. Because of that and the fact that we have more storms rolling in, Amanda will be in for the day. I am leaving at 11:00 (eastern time) and should be home around 5:00. I will be checking on her remotely on my phone and may be able to convince folks to have the camera up, but if you see anything feel free to call my cell (second number on the cam page).

If her milk has made a change, I will change my plans. Off to feed and check on Amanda!"

Beauty at Dreamscape still hasn't foaled...she's outside for now but I wouldn't be surprised to see her back in the stall soon.  I don't believe the owners keep her out as long as Kay tries to each day:

Just went back to check on the little foal at Silver Creek that was having trouble walking.  They've taken the cast/splint off the right foot but still have one on the left, but he is looking alot better, looks to be stepping straight onto his feet now and is walking a whole lot better.  Such a cute little guy.  I was looking at their website and I think mom is Willow, and if so it said the "in utero" foal was $6500.  It'd be fun if I could afford to buy one of these little ones, but this is a little outside of my price range at the moment.  I really need to get back to working full time!

For anyone who wants to know about the Barn Alarm (TM) Monitor (or who may just be joining us on this thread):

It's a service for owners and watchers offered by Marestare.

It's here:

http://www.marestare.com/barnalarm/#

When a mare looks like there is some action ready to happen, an owner will either signal a low alert (mare appears in labor) or high alert (it's happening)---at least that's my take on it.

When an alarm is active for any farm, it will appear in the lower right hand corner of the Barn Alarm page. (BTW, you can minimize this page and it will still be active.)

"Click on the farm name [lower listing] to open the cam page. Click on the message [above] to clear it. If you want to get it back, refresh this page.

Clicking "Silence" will stop the current sound from playing. Clicking "Mute" will stop all sounds, even future alert sounds. Click "Unmute" to turn sounds back on"

I have learned that clicking on a farm name as of the past few days doesn't open the particular farm cam for me as for some reason my 'puter is now treating it as a pop up.  I have Windows7 and have found that to get around this---or any pop up restriction I don't want on a web page---I just press Ctrl and hold it too as I click the farm name.  Then I can get the cam to come up.

--------

Not all births will be caught by this system.  The main reason for the existence of MareStare is to provide extra eyes to watch the mares as unattended foalings can go very wrong.  Some of us do watch certain mares even though they are not on any alarm right now.  We watch Kay's current mare on cam who is "Just Teasing 'Ya" or Tease. Watching Kay and Russ' farm cam foaling stall is why I began this thread.  Over time we saw two other of their mares who have foaled :)

Recently, at varying intervals I have started to check in at a few of the MareStare site pages and learn of farms that may have mares on cam who could be near foaling. Right now, in addition to KayKay's Tease:
http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php/alias=baxterspainted
I've been checking in on Beauty:
http://www.marestare.com/fcam.php?alias=dreamscape

If you are watching a cam, the foal seems in labor (or actually delivering!) and an alarm hasn't been given, the owner may not know about this.  They could even be two stalls down and unaware!  There are number(s) to call the owners on almost every cam page.  Two of the members on my other closely followed forum alerted owners just one week ago---very, VERY grateful owners of Gypsy at All Star Gypsy Vanners farm---and let them know everything that was going on as the owners rushed back to the farm.  As the Marestare site says---"Because you can't be everywhere..."

Bucky

Tease's cam isn't working this morning.   :(  It's all black.  Can't check up on my girl.

Might be another stormy day in Ohio today - it's suppose to be here in Illinois.  I imagine they will keep Tease inside.

Tease must be out terrorizing.  She was her normal self this a.m. when I checked the cam b4 I went to an appt. with DH.

Kay hasn't been writing too regularly on the other board as she is having some temporary eye problems.

Here is a cam with a mare and little foal born only about four hours ago:
