Mornin' all.

Tease is still in.  I don't now if there is bad weather there now or not.

Shortly after I got off the computer last night someone posted on the quilting board thread for marestaring:

"It pays to keep watching...

I was just surfing mare stare due dates and clicked on a few to see who was yet to go that we might want to watch. Clicked into Dusty Rose Miniatures. They have four cameras going. In the lower left one is a mare and her baby (colt/filly?) Mare is eating away and I'm watching the colt (we'll call it a colt since I don't really know). His legs are just flailing like he's running - but his face looks like it's stuck between the wall and the floor. I think "should I call?" - I watched for about 30 seconds more, I decide he's definitely in distress - picked up the phone and called "I'm watching mare stare and the colt in the lower left corner looks stuck between the wall and the floor and I'm pretty sure he's in distress. She says "I'm heading out there right now". I hang up and watch. She came in about two minutes later (He's still running like crazy). She pulls on him and it's clear he's stuck. She pulls again and he comes flying up and takes off. I pictured him thinking "Jeez I thought I was gonna die right there". I know he was stuck. I half expected a call back from the owner - but no. I guess that little one is mine now. (In my heart).

Any way, I just wanted to post my little story to remind you that when in doubt - shout out! I feel better. If that colt turned into an angel colt and I never called. I would never forgive myself... keep watching... you never know."

It's a colt...I guess the mare didn't position very well regarding the cam for this birth so we did't miss too much!

Good morning ladies

Im hoping today is my day to recovery lol. Still coughing but better. I feel so week from being laid low so long.

Good news is Tease is finally making an udder. I suspect she will foal this weekend.

I also suspect the date was wrong again. I never had another date after the April due date but apparently she and black had another rendevous that I didnt know of.

We have cut her grain out almost entirely as I think shes getting way too fat. Since we thought she was due two months ago we increased her grain too early.

Just no exact science when dealing with live animals but I do think we we finally see this foal in the next week. Man I hope!
