Hi olmphoto2,

Yes, I saw the birth!  Mom was a real pro!

I continued to watch for 45 minutes and still the colt didn't move, and Mom was very distressed. :(  I am so happy to see that everything looks great this morning. ;D

Tonight on the site it says, "Tease is very grouchy tonight" . . . don't blame the poor thing - she's weeks overdue.

Come on Tease . . . . quit eating all the time - this is the weekend to get 'er done!!!

I hope some one scoots her in front of the camera, when the time comes. She seems to know how to stay out of veiw.

Tease has been up and down a few times tonight. I think this could be it!

Bucky

It's going on 1:30 a.m. Ohio time and Tease was laying down just a few minutes ago, but is up now and eating.

She really looks pooched out tonight.  I predict her little one will be born before 12 noon on Sunday, May 1st.

She's certainly been up and down this past hour, lots of tail twitching...and Kay says she has an udder now!  :-)

From Kay about twenty minutes ago:

"As soon as I went out it started pouring rain. Just my luck as I am soaked now LOL.

I was really hoping she had made big changes but unfortunately she looks the same. Shes very agitated but I see no sign of foaling in the next few hours. Big sad face.

She did soak the stall with urine so I dumped almost a whole bag of shavings trying to dry it. With this constant humidity nothing dries"

I have been watching, saw her being checked.   She has been down, then up, then down and up again. She does seem restless.
I feel so commited, I don't want to miss this birth. Never seen anything like this.
When she goes into labor, how long is the normal process?

Can be 'zip, bang!' I guess as far as laying down, rolling and delivering!

Oh, also...some mares have particular patterns Kay typically sees before they foal...but this is Tease's first time being a mama.

Oh my...poor Tease...she is so overdue....no wonder she's a tad crabby!  ;)

Horse fact (from Kay I believe)... horse can sleep standing up...BUT to go into REM sleep, they must lay down.
