The dreaded prepare a holiday meal rears it's ugly head again. I'm studiously trying to figure a way out. Maybe I can reschedule my spinal cauterization to land on that weekend....hmmmm...Oh yeah, I can't. How would I eat all that chocolate if I'm laid up. Ummm...ok, buy a ham, potato salad ingredients.....woe is me. ;D
I miss the good old days. Things were more like they used to be back then.

Bring on the chocolate.  One thing I can still enjoy.  I do try to eat the dark type which is a little healthier.

Hi  :)

I'm going to find out what Easter is like in the US this year because I'll be travelling to see my son and daughter in law and to meet my granson for the first time. I think Americans tend to make more of holidays that we do over here, so it should be interesting.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Scottie,

Easter is the best with kids! Easter Egg hunts, eating candy until you are sick, Easter dinner with family. You will have a great time with your family!-hootyhu

Newjoy - Easter is April 24th.  It's really late this year.

I don't wait until Easter to eat chocolate . . . isn't it one of the four food groups you're suppose to have daily?!?   ;D

Most years I enjoy getting ready for Easter and the special day - not this year, I have to work that day and we will be super, super busy serving everyone else their Easter dinner.  We are looking at a possible 800-900 people.  Ugh!  I don't EVEN know what my own family will have that day . . . Mom will just want a bed to sleep in!

Not that I need it since I've been gaining weight, but I love chocolate covered marshmallow eggs, Easter bunnies, Santa Clauses, etc.  Is 56 too old to get an Easter basket????

Easter!  The busiest time of the year at the candy store where i work!   :o They make their own eggs- coconut cream, peanut butter, buttercream and fruit and nut. I will spend many hours decorating eggs ( putting the border on each and writing "Easter 2011"), taking orders, help getting orders ready to mail.  Then the week before ---really busy days of selling, adding names to eggs and bunnies.  Maybe it's a good thing that I will be busy--it will keep me from eating all those yummy things---I'm not supposed to eat anything with artificial color or CHOCOLATE!!!!! :'(

On another note:  Dr. has had to change two medicines, Nexium (the little purple pill--artificial color) to protonix; and pravastatin ( green from artificial color) tp  mega dose fish oil(forget the exact name).  He calls me a "giant hive". Trying to figure out what is causing all the swelling----

So, all of you who can still eat chocolate---enjoy, enjoy!!! And look for the real thing- not the chocolate flavored junk.

quilt4fun - happy candy decorating!  Sounds like a fun job.  I had always thought cake decorating would be a fun job, but, squeezing those icing bags would make my hands hurt.  I agree . . nothing worse than biting into something that tastes like paraffin.  Ewwww

Any chance you could get us some samples?!?   ;D

When I was a little girl I always HAD to have a white chocolate bunny.  Never could eat more than 3 bites though because it was so darn sweet... haha

We started a tradition when my son was about 3.  We were to go on out to a Easter egg hunt at the park one year but it was very stormy that day, so my husband and I decided that we would invite all of our friends and their kids and do the hunt in the house.  We did that for a few years and evolved with my son's friends included, hid eggs in the house (behind picture frames, in bowls, etc).  Well one year my husband decided to boil the eggs (I'm sure you all know where this is going)... he also was in charge of hiding them and stuck one under a couch cushion... well needless to say, we had to have that couch professionally cleaned, tell the kids the eggs were "just for show" that year and my husband has never boiled an egg since that day  :D

Next month, a few weeks before Easter, I'll pick up some easter m&ms and chocolate eggs for my co-workers.  They'll be gone in 2 days too!   :D
