Hi everyone,
I have a heavy heart today. My oldest Neice 39 shot herself last night. I am so devistated. Her mom my sister doesn't want to talk to anyone. I just wish I could talk to her and do something. I understand she is in shock. I really worry about her. She lost her husband a couple of years ago and is very withdrawn. She has another daughter who I spoke with this morning. She was going to the funeral home at noon with her mom to make arrangements.

You never know when something like this will strike us all. So sad that she chose to end her life at such a young age. I just wish I could have helped her. She left 3 children ages 17, 15 and 13. Also twin grandsons age 1. I don't understand what could have been so bad to end her life. I feel so bad.

Thanks for listening. Just needed to tell someone.
Please pray for their family, harlin

Thoughts with you and your family Harlin.

That is sad indeed.

My husband's youngest brother took his own life. He drove a car over a cliff. He also left a young family.

There is no understanding it. It's so sad. They have no idea what they leave behind. They honestly think that those who love them will be better off without them.

You can always talk to us. Your sister will appreciate you being there for her even if she feels she can't talk to you right now.

Take care - Scottie

(((Harlin))) - I'm so sorry your family is going through this really sad, difficult time.

It's hard to understand why things like this happen.

I'm sure your sister is still in shock.  Just let her know that you're available if she wants to talk.  It's going to be a difficult time for your nieces children and grandchildren too.

Remembering you and your family at this time of loss.

Hugs,
Bucky

Oh Harlin - what a dreadful thing to happen.  There is no way to make sense of it.  Just wanted to send love and to let you know you are all in my thoughts.  Hope you have someone to comfort and support you as you try to be strong for your sister and the teenagers.  Post and let us know how you are getting on when you have time.  xx Ailsa

Harlin, I'm so sorry.

What a cruel thing for everyone to deal with.

Your niece  must have been in unbearable pain, emotional or physical.

But the lasting pain of her suicide will hurt forever those around her.

I wish there were easy answers and easy consolations.   There just aren't.

You will do what you can, but no one can make this better, only time and grieving and loving support may make it almost bearable.

My heart goes out to you and your family.

Please seek professional support, and group support for families who have experienced this.

It is a major life blow, for all of you.   And you who are left will have to bear this pain together.

It is.

It happened.

It should never have happened.

Share with us, if you can, when you can.

Hugs and kisses.

What a tragedy!  Sometimes you just never know what overwhelmed the person.  May she rest in peace.  So sorry for your loss.

For the second time on the forum today, I have to recommend the book "The Year of Magical Thinking" by Joan Didion about the year after her husband died unexpectedly.

I'm so sorry to hear that, harlin!! :'(

I wish i could hug ya through this screen!

Just be there for her when she is ready! The kids will need ya at this time if you are close with any of them, as it sounds like your sis is taking it really hard and may have to take care of her first before her grandkids.

Hugs and  :-* :-* :-*
