hey, all.

i've been floating about here and there on these boards, and though i read posts often, i don't always get to comment/reply/etc. this is in part due to flares, partly to work, and of course life in general.

a few times, people have mentioned they'd like to hear about good things in people's lives, or even good things that have come about from having SjS. my son falls into both categories for me. he came about because of my autoimmune issues, and he's one of the best things i've ever done.

lately he's been doing something that just cracks me up. he's 13 months old and isn't yet talking but has excellent verbal comprehension. one of his favorite things to do when i'm not paying attention is to turn his father's computer on and off. (the power button lights up bright blue. what toddler could resist it???) when i caught him doing this on Monday, i told him, "no, cooper, no touch. no no." he looked at me, cocked his head, and pushed the button again, and again i told him no. and he listened... sort of.  he crawled away, grabbed his toy truck, crawled back to the computer and used the truck to push the button! he smiled at me as if to say, "see how clever i am? *i'm* not touching it!"  i had to fight back laughing and tell him, "no, not with the truck, either. no touch." this time he scowled at me, then at his truck, then he put the truck down and crawled over for a hug. and me, i just had to laugh and laugh.

maybe it's the lack of sleep or proof that my life is pretty boring, but i think the kid's hilarious and a wee bit too smart for his good - or mine. =)

just thought i'd share...

CAT1962

NancyLee!  ;D Talk about being a  PIP! hehe...AND, sister...I was here first...and I have 4 she can take for awhile...LOL

nancylee

Lets sit back CALMLY and idenify the differences in our offers.

You said you had 4 you would you are willing to LOAN her for a while. I am willing to give her mine. I will even throw in clothes and some furniture, as well as a bonus wife. How about That! can you match that offer??

echofuzz

lol! i saw "bonus wife" and for a moment thought the board was getting spammed!

whilst i would love loaner children, mine is almost more than i can handle as it is. unless the loaners do chores and such??? cook? clean? empty litter boxes? any of the above??? then i might take them!!

nancylee

I would keep them if they did any of those things! You started a nice post!

echofuzz

glad to have started a good thing for a change! ;)

CAT1962

Ok, If mine did that stuff, I would keep them, too!  ;D LOL I do love my kiddos, but wow, the laziness....... :P

That is such a sweet story.  Thanks for sharing!  My boys are 2 and 5 and if I didn't have them driving me crazy/ making me laugh I don't know what I'd do.  They enhance my life more than words can describe.

echofuzz

season: i do enjoy him and take as good care of him as i can. :) he's truly one of the brightest spots in my life, not just these days but ever.

Patze and tomsmom: yes, he is a lot of fun, and he makes me crazy, and makes me laugh.

i could go on and on about him, and i never thought i'd be "that" kind of mother. but apparently he's made me into one...

thanks for reading, and i'd love to hear stories about your kids.

Echo, that is so special :)  your post made me pull out my photo album and reminisce about my boy growing up... I miss those times.  He's a teenager now but they always stay your babies :D (just don't tell them that when they are teenagers, they don't like it LOL!)

Enjoy these years... they are the best!

Echo,
What a precious story. I just love the little ones, they are so smart and you never know what they will do next. He sounds like quite a bundle of joy. They just do something to your heart. It makes your heart burst with pride and love.

They really help take your mind off your illness and concentrate on something else.
So happy for you. Keep your chin up and enjoy the happiness that this little guy can bring.
Love, harlin
