Update from the Dr...

I went to see 3 of my Dr's in NY this past Thursday and Friday, well first flying while trying to get over a sinus and an ear infection was really interesting. I made it going ok, but coming home, I'm pretty sure I blew my left ear drum, and I can't hear as well anymore from it! The pain was crazy, and there was nothing I could do about it.
I watched the air get sucked out of my water bottle just before my ear blew and I knew I was in trouble!

So first I saw a new Gastro Dr and I gave him my old reports and he was shocked. He didn't understand why I wasn't being treated for Gastroparesis, GERD and he's pretty sure I might have Chrone's, so now I have to go back next month and have another colonoscopy so he can do a bunch of biopsy's on my colon! Then an Endoscopy and have some more biopsy's done thataway! LOL

Then off to the Immunologist, while talking to him he says, when did that Goiter show up on your neck!!!! I was like OMG are you serious, he felt my neck and said, yep it's enlarged! He wrote a script to have it sonogramed STAT.

Then the next morn I woke to 5 inches of snow, which meant my plane that night would be delayed.... ....  But because of the snow  I was able to get an appointment for the Thyroid sono ....hehehehe, so many people cancelled their appointments ! I also had to get my mamo done because I have a lump in my left breast.


Then I went to the Urologist who said he was happy I'm not any worse, and kept me on the same dose of Rapaflo for the spasams and urgency, and felt that the pain in my back was from my colon not my kidney, great.... that darn colon!!

Ok, off to the airport! Plane delayed 3 hours, for snow that was practically blown away hrs ago, because of the 40 mile an hr winds... then the Immunologist calls me while waiting at the airport and says he got the sono report back... I have 3 nodules on my Thyroid, he's going to fax me the report and wants me to get more blood work done, and he wants me to see an Endocrinologist...

Let me see I have lost count now just how many Dr's does that make!!!

So tired...I am going to order some of Joe's supplement's tomorrow so I can keep going on!!!!! 

Anybody have nodules on their Thyroid and would like to tell me about it? I would love to hear about it..a little nervous about this! Thyroid problems are an issue in my family.

Wow! You had quite  journey didn't you?!

I lost track of how many docs you had too! Glad some of the docs are going to start ya in the right directions! Sorry to hear about the goiter, but at least he noticed and can start getting it taken care of!

I don't think I could fly with any kind of head cold! You are a brave soul!

Anybody have nodules on their Thyroid and would like to tell me about it?

Yep I had nodules.   Several nodules, a few on the larger side. For a few years, did the deal I got sonargrams (spelling??) yearly  to verify that they were not getting any bigger and needle biopsy, to help try and determine that there was no cancer in the things.

Few years later, switched doctors, was sent to another specialist, who said that the nodules were too large to be sure that a needle biopsy would be accurate.  So ended up having the thyroid removed.

They tested the thyroid after the removal,  no cancer.  So now I am taking thyroid medicine daily, since I have no thyroid.

I was told that even if there was cancer in the thyroid, it is one of the "better" cancers to have.  Thyroid cancer is suppose to be completely treatable.

mews, You really had a very interesting and busy trip. Glad that you got so much taken care of. It was worthwhile to travel the distance to have things taken care of.

I am still sitting here wondering how your ear is. By "blown out" I am wondering if you ruptured the eardrum. Anyway, hope that you have had it checked. If you have any problems down the road as in "near future" don't put off getting it checked.

I flew and ignored all the problems as I thought it was just fluid in my ear. It was not! I had really bad infection that started the beginning of the loss of hearing. Sort of a dental left over, ear infection, low t-cell related to sjogrens event.

Hope you get everything done that needs to be and that all is well. Irish

Irish the ear that gave me all the problems on the plane is doing much better, I still feel as though I am not hearing as well.. Now that being said, I am having pain in my other ear, the ear that hurt a lot before I went on the trip. I also feel like I have a dime size nut at the base of my tongue, and every time I swallow it hurts! Is this what I hear the Thyroid gland with the nodules cause? I'm not sure, back to NY to see yet another DR...

Hopefully I will get back in a couple of weeks !!!!!!
