Hi all,

Okay, here's a bit of a twist to an old topic and lets see what y'all like.  The topic is movies, not just any old movie, but what is your favorite scary movie (or movies if you're a fan of the genre)???

I have a ton of "favorites", but if it comes down to it, here are a half dozen or so...

The Entity, still scares me enough that I have to leave on the lights
The Exorcist, everyones favorite movie to be afraid of :)
The Haunting, the 1963 version
Alien, whew, what a ride
The Andromeda Strain, the 1971 version
The Other, the 1972 version
Five Million Years to Earth, still creepy

Patze, NICE movie selection!  ;D I am a horror/thriller movie BUFF. Love them! Sadly, I can't drag my hubby to a single one. I did once..HUGE mistake! Through the whole movie he would say, "That would never happen." or "Stupid!"..LOUDLY, so as not to scare his britches off I guess. It was embarrassing.

Mine?

Night Elm on Elm Street....Freddie and me are like THIS! (fingers crossed)
The Exorcist...creeps me out every time!
The Others...good old fashion creepiness
Halloween...;)
The Ring...seriously nice and creepy...
Paranormal Activity...yikes.
AngelHeart...
Shutter...

I could go on and on.....

Hi Cat,

I see that you like the physical side of the horror screen, and that's a good thing (good selection)! :D  Me, I like a good mystery thrown into my horror and my mind will take it from there (big Hitchcock fan too).

Oh, Patze, the older I have gotten I do like more mystery. I can't take the gore. I guess my genre of choice would be Thrillers instead of my old past time, Horror.

Patze,
I can't do scary anymore! It keeps me up at night. My husband loves them. when I was young I use to love them, we use to go to the drive-in for all night thrillers. Not anymore. I watch something in one room and he watches scary in another.

Hi Harlin,

Yep, seen them, and they had some tense moments, I was surprised that they weren't scarier (I had a few relatives that you would stay out of the woods and out of the streets in broad daylight when they were around, they seriously had some issues).  Tell him that I still love the woods though! :)

I quit going to Horror movies as I always seem to figure out who done it, what is gonna happen and when.
Either I got ESP or they are making them too obvious anymore.

;D Pisces, I know what you mean! They are all cloned plots pretty much!

What a fun topic!!  Right now I like mysteries and thrillers more than SciFI and Horror movies.
When I enjoyed them some of my favorites were-
                           The Fly(1950-s version)
Klute( 1970"s) scary, but not horror or SciFi
Invasion of the Body Snatchers ( 1978?)
                           Alien( the first one only)
When we were kids(1950"s) our neighborhood theater would have Sat. matinees and feature scary movies,or Cowboy movies or
'The Bowery Boys' plus 10 cartoons
