Yesterday I suffered a great loss.  My Dad, who had been very ill for a very long time, passed away.  I feel like my heart is broken in half.

I miss you so much, you lovely little man.  :'( :'(

I'm so sorry for your loss....no matter how old we are or how much we know that someone is sick and the end is near...it sure doesn't make losing them any easier. I went through this in June when I lost my dad who was also very ill...there is nothing I can say to make your heart hurt any less...just know there are others here who understand and are sending you lots of cyber hugs and support. We are here if you need someone...

Allow yourself the time to grieve...but remember to also celebrate his life and all of his accomplishments. It helps to surround yourself by other people who also loved him.

Hugs to you.....

I am sooo sorry for your loss.
I was an only child and my dad passed in 1993 and mom in 2001. I was also a caretaker for them for many years.

I still have an old hat my dad used to wear fishing that honestly no self respecting bum would wear But it means a lot to me and brings to mind a lot of good memories.

In time the pain will be muted. Remember that you have all your memories!

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my mother this year so I have an idea of what you are going though. @@@ May the Creator of all bring peace to your mind @@@

With mom I considered it a blessing because she was in so much pain. She did have a Near Death Experience that would be termed the "Mystic Vail".

So sorry for your loss, Carebear.

I, too, lost my Dad this past September after a valiant battle against lung cancer.  Having witnessed the suffering, it was a relief to know he was no longer in pain, although we miss him dearly.

You will find the silliest and unexpected things triggering memories of your lovely father. Some bring a smile.  Some bring a tear. But your dear father will never be far from your thoughts.

My thoughts are with you.

((Carebear)),

Sending my sympathy to you on the passing of your Dad.

I too know the difficult and sad time of losing a parent.  As the others have stated, even if you know their time on this earth is coming to an end, it is still very difficult to say goodbye.

"Those who have given of themselves to others will live forever in every single heart they have touched."

May the memories of your Dad always be in your heart Carebear.

Praying for your comfort and strength in the coming days.

Carebear,

My heart goes out to you! I'm so sorry to hear of your dear Dad's passing. My mother passed 3 yrs. ago, and it seems that it doesn't matter how old we are, or how old our parents are, it is still so very difficult.

Please take care of yourself. Remember you have many friends here wishing you peace, comfort and strength. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

So sorry to hear about your loss and such a difficult time of year for it too when so many seem to be celebrating. (Not that there is ever a good time of year for it)

Condolences to you and your family.

Really sorry about the loss of your Dad,,, I lost mine in 93, and theres not a day that goes by that I dont think of him,, or talk to him looking for guidance,,, time lessens the pain of a brokenheart, and teh heart heals, but were still left with a emptyness in our souls

Your dad will be at peace now, and although it's really sad for his loved ones, he will be in a happier place. I will pray for your dad and your family.
