Anyopne making any that you can really keep,?, dont try something that you know is going to be impossible,, just something simple that might just make us all feel a bit better about life,,, as for myself,, I havent decided,, I think its illegal to beat a stupid doctor with a ball bat,,

LOL NavyDad I love your sense of humor. I have been thinking about it but now sure. I really need to do something. My pain is a little less these days but that is because of very strong meds that make me sleep all day. I need to commit to healthier habbits. I need to stop sleeping all day and do my work like I am supposed to. But I am not sure how to do that without pumping my body with tons of caffiene and sugar. That's just brings other problems and causes me to crash. Let me know it you start a resolution.

i made a new year's resolution - about 6 or 7 years ago.....

It was to never make new year's resolutions again,   and so far I have kept it!  ;D

As I have had a down hill slide with AI diseases I have given up on resolutions. Now it is just to make it from day to day or through a day part. I have had AI diseases for almost 30 years now.

I don't make New Year's resolutions anymore but rather a daily resolution to try to find the positive in life, even if I have to dig for it.   ;)

BonusMom

I've never made New Year's Resolutions.  Since my birthday is shortly after New Year's, that is my "new year" and every birthday is a new beginning.

Since I have not exercised in earnest since my son's wedding in October and I have 8 lbs to lose to be in the "normal" BMI range, I vow to commit myself to getting back on my bicycle no later than the day after my birthday and not only hit that 8 lb loss, but lose an additional 18 lbs. by June for a total weight loss of 80 lbs. since February of 2010.

Not a New Year's Resolution, Dear Sjoggies, but simply a goal and sheer determination.

I'll let you know when I reach my goal!

hmm...something simple that might make us feel better about life...I like that.

Hadn't really thought about a New Year's Resolution, as such. But...
1) I've planned on joining a local fitness center run by the hospital, just to have access to the nice warm pool. So that's on the list in the next couple of weeks.

2) Bought a sewing machine for Christmas; nothing fancy. But I have started my first quilt in years, and something I enjoy. I want to donate some quilts/blankets for a charity or hospital. Maybe Ronald McDonald house or not sure where yet. I like the creative feeling it gives me, plus I need to be contributing to something!

3) Buy a couple more live, green plants for indoors. They give me joy!
Thanks for encouraging me to think about this.

Joe, making it from day to day is a resolution,, if you give up,, you broke it,,

I think for me, after seeing my doxie more or less roll instead of walking, I;m going to try and get him and me out more,,,he needs to shed a few pounds,, trouble is I only can walk around the house and yard,, I have a path wore in the ground from doing it so much,, but since winter set in, its been less and less,,

ona  side note,, I had to take the red boned hound with me to the doctors to pick up more samples of cymbalta,, and I had on my new steeler vest, I walked in the doctors office,, looked at my vest, and it looked like a brown hair filled pilllow exploded on me,, darn dog needs to be on my lap when ever I go somewhere,  but I love him,,

Ah, a New Year's resolution?  Hmmmmm, that could be quite long! :)

The first thing that I want to accomplish is loose some much needed weight!  Oh gosh, it would be so decent not to have to deal with doctors that look you up and down, and then base everything on being overweight.

The second thing would be plow through my storage unit to clean out the clutter!  Shucks, might even be able to get a smaller unit if I can chuck some of the "excess"; I'm a regular pack rat don't ya know! ;) :D

The third thing would be to finish this very large needle point that I've been working on for the last couple of months.  It's about twenty-two inches by thirty-four I think (the largest one that I've ever tried to do); now if the fingers would stop hurting, ugh.

And Navydad, it is a bit illegal to pop the doc, but I sure can understand the impulse!

Take care all and have a great day -

Is it too selfish to make a resolution to focus on me a bit more next year? lol  I'm a people pleaser, especially with my family (although I would never dream of changing that) but I need to say yes to me first every once in a while and taking time for myself more.  That's what I'm lacking and I feel it sometimes and my identity goes out the window.  So focus on me a bit more, maybe have a "D - day" every once in a while-  haha (yes that's the first letter of my name) hehehe

Ahh, Navydad!

I don't make resolutions.    Not consciously, anyway.

There are some things I'm always aiming for, but falling short.

Mostly weight loss.

Otherwise, I'm pretty relaxed about stuff at this stage.

Or resigned????

Loved reading this post.

I know what you mean about 'me' time. I'm thinking I need to do a bit of that too. I adore my little grandies, but I'm beginning to lose the closeness I had with my own children, as it seems the only times they come is when they want to leave the little ones with us. Think I need to remind them that I need family time with us all together, not just us and the grandies.

On another popular theme: I need to lose weight for son number three's wedding in June - that means keeping a food diary, as lots of fruits and veg and high fibre products give me the gripes, but I need to eat fewer carbs. I also need to try to build my stamina, and I'm hoping Mrs Bucky's challenge will help with that.

Happy New Year everyone.

We are too much alike...I could have written this and that is my resolution this year.  Also to focus on being more in the moment with my kids.  I am, but sometimes I am stressing about all there is to do.  I don't care about that anymore. :)
