It's unusual for it to get so cold here than any of the sea freezes - but have a look at this!

It's my son walking on the sea near Blackpool.

That's amazing! That it would freeze with the wave action and the salt content of the water.

I know most mothers think their sons can walk on water, but yours actually did!   :D

Scottie, That is unbelievable. I always thought you had more moderate winters. What temps have you been having over there. I see in the papers about the cold winter.

We have had a lot of snow in MN but the temps have not been all that bad. Several around 3 above but mostly in the teens and then going up into the twenties during the day. Not bad at all for us. We also have not had much wind. Thankfully. When the winds blow the blizzards of snow can make visibility really bad and the wind chill has been known to be 20-30 below for the milder days and back in Dec of 1983 it was 60-80 below windchill.

At the end of the day when I came out of work my tires would almost be flat on one side from the cold. Thankfully, that doesn't happen much either.

Stay warm, girl. Irish ;D

Beautiful photo.  I'm almost with Irish on weather, but it's worse where she is.  The frozen lake/sea looks much like the Great Lakes when they freeze.
Our winter so far has been milder than normal with less than normal snowfall.  All the recent blizzards missed us in a pocket of Michitan.  Love it.

What a great photo Scottie ! You should send it to the newspapers.

Coming from Australia, I can't imagine how cold it must be to make the sea freeze like that.
Winter in Sydney is very mild in comparison to what you are going through.

Hi :)

It's a lot warmer again now. Not warm - but no longer freezing. Unfortunately I can't send the photo anywhere - because I didn't take it. My son doesn't know I've posted it here. I really like it though.

Sorry it's so cold with you Navydad. We never usually get it as cold as you, which is why snow seems to bring our country to a halt - we just never seem to expect it.

Take care - Scottie  :)
