Just wondering if anyone has ever seen this website...its pretty cool and pretty thought provoking!

http://wouldhavesaid.com/

It's letters people wrote and submitted online of things that they wished they had said to someone in their life...whether that person is still alive or has passed. Very interesting.....

Haven't seen it before, but definitely will check it out.

Oh my, this site is so full of dispair, hopelessness, loneliness, bad choices, regrets and on and on.

Lynn,

Boy, they have websites for just about anything on the web, don't they?  A lot of sad letters - most to people who had passed away - and the letter writers regrets for not being there, etc.

In this computer and cell phone age where e-mails and texting are the "in" thing - I am still one to do things the old fashioned way.  A card and or letter mailed and delivered to their home.

I am a sentimental person - I keep cards and letters.  I have a computer box full of cards and letters from my husband when we were courting.   :D

I have cards and notes from a lot of friends and family - some who has since passed away.  I love to pull them out and re-read them and remember what a special place that person had in my life.

Each year, I write a letter to our son.  I highlight everything that is going on in his life, new milestones, family events, etc.  He has never seen these letters - I have them in his "baby" book.  I hope some day when he gets these letters he will appreciate that I took the time to write them.  That he will know how much he is loved (above and beyond what I tell him every day).

In this hurry up society, I know I am guilty of being "too busy" to sit and talk with friends - especially, older people.  When I go home and visit family, I try and make the rounds with aunts and uncles and neighbors - as one never knows when your visit will be the last one.

Don't wait until someone is gone to let them know how much they mean to you.  They will be thrilled to know it while they are living!

OK, I'll get off my soap box now . . . I try and make sure the people I care about, know it.

Exactly Bucky! Well said! I think your son will treasure those letters for the rest of his life and hopefully pass them on to his children and grandchildren one day so they can cherish them as well! I think its a wonderful idea.

I don't look at this site as full of hopelessness, despair and loneliness. I look at it as people who have had regrets about something or some one in their life and now they have a chance to maybe make a little peace with it and hopefully find a new sense of freedom! They are real life situations and some people just need to get things off of their chests even if to make things a little easier for them to deal with the situation and to do it anonymously works for many folks!

Also....if nothing else...it teaches us to not make the same mistakes and make the most of every minute and tell those we love how we feel while we have the chance! I just thought it inspired a lot of thoughts....at least for me it did!
