Prednisone and chronic backache and headaches?

I'm wondering if any of you on long term prednisone have issues with backaches and headaches? I have had an upper backache, neckache and headache several days a week since I started taking it in May. I'm only on 4mg a day which seems like so little but I'm stumped as to what else it could be. Maybe SJS itself is causing it but if so this is something I didn't know about. I do get pretty bad joint pain in my hands and feet but the plaquenil is doing wonders regarding that for the time being. I haven't mentioned anything about this to my doctor yet as I have so many issues right now that I feel that I'll either overwhelm the Dr or else sound like a hypochondriac. Until this Spring I had been suffering in silence and now I'm starting to feel ridiculous even to myself as I seem to have one problem after another lately! The backaches are starting to really affect my life though so I am going to have to address it whether I like it or not. I'm hoping that the prednisone is causing it, but i haven't been able to find anything online about long term low doses causing this. I suppose it could be yet another problem I am developing out of nowhere, but I really hope not.! Thanks in advance for any input.

I go on prednisone when I have back problems, in fact if I could have gotten a hold of my doctor today I would have asked her for a medrol pack.  It is difficult when you have one problem after another, makes a person want to just give up and I feel the same way about overwhelming a doctor with so many different issues, that's why I have 5 different specialist and a GP, I don't want them to think I'm a hypochondriac either.  Maybe your neck and head ache are related, have you seen a chiropractor or an osteopath?  Some times you just need a realignment just like a car.

Thanks for your response, I will look into that. I've never had pain quite like this, Or at least not so often. Whatever is going on with my back is progressing, and I'm not quite able to tell if the pain is from the bones or muscles.  Another thing I thought of is, until this past summer I ran almost every day but now I hardly exercise at all. Maybe the inactivity is doing something to my muscles, I guess stranger things have happened. I'm going to look and see if my insurance covers chiropractors. Thanks again!
