Oh Bucky, I have the cat for you! ;) :D  He's talented for sure, but boy, he sure can get into things (mainly any card board boxes that contains his food; have to empty them into a plastic container as soon as I bring it home to keep down his consumption of paper products.  Tough on the tummy don't ya know? :D).

Nah, I can't part with the small "grizzly", as he's become something of a legend at the vets as well (personally I don't think anyone can afford the liability ;) :D).  I had him at the vets the other day for a physical (he's getting older), and they went to take some blood, and then all holy heck broke out.  All of the sudden you hear screaming (human), and then the cat is just going nuts hissing, screeching, and I don't want to know what else, and he not taking any prisoners!

Finally it gets really quiet and as everyone in the waiting area stared toward the area where they do the testing, and a tech shortly brings out the big guy in his carrier.  Boy was that fur ball in a fowl mood!  I felt sorry for the techs as one of them did lose some blood and will not work with the "grizzly" any longer.  They will only deal with him if they have those big thick gloves on (he doesn't mess with the vets, just the techs).  Aaahhhh, a day in the life of....  ;D

Take care of yourselves -

Bucky,

I think I have been on the forum for a couple years now, and never have posted on the social board.  This is a good topic as animals are so important in our emotional well being.  I don't know what I would do without my several animals to keep me going.

I have one very unique cat (just barely a year old now) named Mac.  He came home to our family on Xmas Eve last year.  I bought several toys for him, but he only wanted these small gray rabbit fur covered mice.  The package has white ones too but he has nothing to do with the white ones.  The gray ones he carries around in his mouth from room to room and plays with them ALL the time.  The funny part is what he does when he done playing.  He puts them in his food bowl.  I kid you not. He keeps them there until the next time he wants to play.

My husband thinks he's carrying them there to feed them...that Mac thinks they are his babies.  He has put them in the water bowl as well (just for a few minutes, then scoops them out), so maybe he's right.  Anyway, every night when Mac goes to bed, he puts any mice laying around in the food bowl for the night.   He loves the mice soooo much.  They get worn out, so I have to buy news one frequently.  Again the pack comes with both white and gray mice.  I have a bunch of white ones that have never been touched, and little grays ones either around the house or in the food bowl.

Cats can be such a riot.  No two are alike.

Well, we have a 7 yr old Border collie, a 4 yr old Shih Tzu, a 2 1/2 yr old Schnorkie, and a 6 month old Chi mix. They are all crazy. LOL BUT, our Border is the sweetetst...untill she gets out the front door to herd cars. It's scary but funny to watch. She runs in front of one, barking the whole time, then dodges around to the other side, ect..back and forth.....huge mechanical sheep. We also have 2 cats and a Green Cheeked Conure. Our oldest cat is almost 10 and will jump and hang on to the doorknob until you open the door for him...hehehe

I thought about starting a new thread since this one was started many, many months ago - but, I love the stories everyone has posted on this thread, I wanted to continue it and hopefully, some of our "newbies" would join in too.   :D

Today, is February 2nd.  I live in the the Midwest and we were slammed yesterday with a huge snowstorm.  I'm not even sure how much snow we got - since it's drifted, but let's just suffice it to say . . A LOT (almost, if not more than 2 feet)!!

As you have read in this thread before, I have two outdoor cats . . . Spooky - who is a marble colored Calico, and her son, TJ, who was born in June 2010.  Both cats came in for a while last night to eat inside, then they wanted to go back outside.  They have a "cat house" (small dog igloo type house) on the front porch they stay in, or they have several spots in the woods that they hunker down in at times.

The cats stayed outside last night.  This morning I went to feed them and had them come inside for a while.

In our shed, we have a cat cage and litter pan that we use on occasion if the cats stay inside when the weather dips well below zero.  With the predicted storm we had the last several days, I meant to bring that inside - at least to put it in the garage in case we kept the cats inside.  But . . . I didn't.   :(  Now, it would be difficult to get out there to the shed.

Since I was going to leave the "kids" inside for a while today, I needed to have a litter pan inside the house (recently, on one of their indoor visits, one of the little darlings pooped in the hallway - which I found when I headed to bed . . . ewwwwww).  So, I devised my own litter pan for them using a computer paper lid box.  I took the box and put it inside a white garbage bag and then filled it with kitty litter.  Then, I discovered the pooper scooper was out in the shed too.   ::)  Again, I devised my own version . . . a plastic fork!   :D

I had no sooner assembled all this and the kids were using it.  I wonder if they were "holding" it because of the snow outside?!  I worried whether TJ would remember how to use the litter pan . . . he remembered!   ;D

Just like children . . when the two of the cats are inside and are quiet, it makes me come see what they're getting into.  Thankfully, they were just checking everything out inside - sniffing everything.  We close the bedroom doors when they're inside as we don't want them in the bedrooms to leave any little "presents".   ::)

A little while later, I was sitting at the computer and TJ is reaching up on a chair swatting at the ornaments on a little 2 ft. Christmas tree I still have sitting in the dining room.  Ut oh  . . . no TJ, leave the tree alone.  Yeah right, like he's going to listen . . . he jumps up on the tree and starts batting at the bow on top of the tree.  I had to intervene and move the tree up to higher ground.  He looks at me as if to say, "hey, why did you take my toy away from me?".  Earlier, I had already pulled out a bunch of his toys he had when he was younger for him to play with and they were sitting on the carpet in the living room.

Unfortunately, both my son and I get really stuffed up when the cats are inside, so they don't stay inside very long.

Hope you've enjoyed your warm meal and dry kitty pan . . time to head back outside.

Never a dull moment with animals.

I have a grey male cat named Jiggs who sasses me back whenever I don't let him do something.
And if he wants something, I get sassed for that too.  He loooves the snow (indoor cat only) so I brough in a pan of snow for hime to play with today. Heck there is enough of it outside!.

I call him the baby as he'll meow when he wants me to play with him cause he is bored. Sooo spoiled.

My Abby (beagle) is the funniest thing.  I have these baskets that I use when I pull the clothes out of the hampers to sort the clothes by colors, textures, etc.  Well I have to make sure that I am always close to those baskets when there are clothes in them because if I don't watch her, she will pull a few clothes out of each basket, make a pile and rustle it up.  While she is rustling it up, she makes little growling noises and gets all into it.  When she finally gets it the way she wants it, she plops on the clothes and she goes to sleep on about 10 different items of clothes (a little of each of mine, my husband's, and my son's).  Granted she has like 3 different doggie beds in the house.
