My family once had an indoor/outdoor cat names Rusty. I was woken up at 2am in the morning with hearing my mother go "ah, ah, ah" soo I come downstairs to wee what is wrong. She couldn't get a word out just pointed.
I seems she let the cat in and he decided to bring his toy in too. A baby bunny. Mom is trying to catch the cat, the cat is trying to catch the bunny and the bunny is trying to find a hiding place. Course none of them appreciated me laughing my head off.  ;) :D  I did finally get the bunny in a big coffee can and let him back outside.

BUT this happened two other times until my mother figured out to check the cat's mouth PRIOR to letting him in the house.  No more 2am wake ups but the cat wasn't very appreciative.  ::)

NewJoy -  Spooky got her name because she was born around Halloween, plus . . she is easily spooked by things.  If my hubby or son move too quickly - she's gone in a flash!  One time I surprised her in the backyard and she went running for the woods until I called her name, and then she put the brakes on, turned around and came running to me!   ;D

TJ got his name because he is an identical twin to his brother.  I had named the twins Tom and Jerry.  My friend was here visiting in August - the day she left, one of the twins disappeared.   :( Since the boys are identical, they were hard to tell apart.  So, I'm not sure which twin I have . . . Tom or Jerry.  So, I renamed the kitten TJ which covers both names.   :D

Pisces24 - good thing Rusty only brought in a bunny and not a snake!!   :o

I got a new dog this summer and this dog and my cat can rough-house for hours.  I took this video of them one day and posted it on youtube.   It doesn't really show how they can sometimes go at it.  The dog will grab the cat by the neck and drag it across the room and the cat loves it and comes back for more.

Billydude, This truly is amazing for this country 'girl' to watch! ;D  Thanks for sharing another PART of our pet world!
Around here when a dog barks or one is seen on the horizon, our 3 cats head for the garage cat door, double time!! :o

Who's the dog spectator in the background? What does this dog do when all this is going on?  ???

One more question, is the cat's front paws declawed?   ;) Our three sister, farm cats like to choose a column in my little fenced in Garden of Joy at dusk and watch for the neighboring farm male cat to come and visit.  He comes every few nights to check  on 'his girls!'

Thank goodness, they are all spayed. :D  Or, heaven knows how may kitties we would have by now.

When my Father in law, was dieing of Cancer,  Anastasia, my wife's Maltese, would spend hours laying next to him.  It was a great comfort to dad to have her there.  After dad's death, my wife was cleaning out his closet.  She put a stack of his clothes by the washing machine and then went back to get another stack.  When she came back out there was Anastasia laying on top of dad's clothes.  Anastasia missed Grandpa.  The clothes were a reminder of him.  My wife did not have the heart to move her.

Every day is an adventure, waiting to happen.

NewHorizons....no the cat is not declawed.  They don't put their claws out when they are playing.    My other dog plays with the dog but not so much with the cat.

We looked out the living room window today and there are 16 wild turkeys following TJ, our cat.  TJ runs to one end of the porch, the turkeys follow him.  He runs to the other end of the porch, they follow him.  TJ goes around back into the woods - the turkeys follow him.

Finally, TJ just lay down in the woods and the turkeys gave up and went out into the soybean field out front.  This isn't the first time the turkeys have pestered TJ.  TJ is only five months old, so he is probably wondering why these big birds keep following him.   ::)

It was so funny to watch this play out with TJ and the turkeys.

I bet the turkeys are just thankful they are still roaming around free and weren't somebodies meal for Thanksgiving!!  These are all female turkeys, I haven't seen any of the Tom Turkeys lately.

I can't wait to see what TJ thinks of snow!!   :o

We have a  5 year old german shephard boy. He has many names that go along with all his personalities -- there is Hunter -- Ed -- Fang Lee Chew .
He has a kitty friend next door on one side of the fence . The kitty will slip it's paw under the fence and  stratigically lure Hunters nose to that site m then BOOM -SWAT - Kitty will bat Hunter on the nose and race dwon the other end of the fence and repeat the same action and hunter loves this..it is comical to watch. When i found he had rabbits to play with living on the other side of the fence, the comedy increased daily -- that is when I seriously considered changing Hunters name to *Hef* -- if he want chasing bunnies he was chasing kitties ---it was hard to keep up to him. :)

Now that I've been working longer hours, when I get home I have to change out of my work clothes PRIOR to sitting down.  The minute I sit down I get one or two cats on my lap. They seem to want to hold me down so I don't leave the house again.

I have an alarm clock for work that wakes me to music. I put it on the other side of the bedroom so I have to get up to turn it off. Well if I don't turn it off within a minute or two, my cat Jiggs will jump up by the radio and knock it off. I already got one broken in the past.
Guess he doesn't like the music?  ;) :D

Patze

Hi Pisces,

Maybe Jiggs is a classical kind of kittie? ;) :D

I have a cat who loves coffee especially Tim Horton's (available in Canada) She gets her head right in the cup and licks it up. Thankfully she doesn't have a smoke with that.

Cute animal stories - thanks everyone for sharing.

As you all know, I have two cats . . Spooky and her son, TJ.  So, most every time I post on this thread it will be about those two . . . yeah know, "it's all about them".   ::)

We have this plastic airtight pet food container with locking lid that we store the cat food in.  It comes on wheels and will hold a 16 lb. bag of dry food.  Well, Mr. TJ, our ever curious kitten (how long are they considered kittens?  He's six months old.) knows that when I get their food ready for them, that I keep going to this plastic container.  He decides he wants to check it out himself.  So, up he jumps INTO the container!   :o  He proceeds. to help himself to the mass buffet of dry cat food.  I call him - he looks up at me as if to say, "what?  I'm eating!"  Silly cat!!

Now - every time he comes in the house (and they usually only come in when they sneak into the garage when the vehicles are coming in or out and they "wait" on the step and follow us into the house) Mr. TJ will follow me to the plastic container, and when I open the lid, he'll stand on his hind legs with his front paws on the container and watch me as I get their food ready.  (TJ's a big kitten . . he's the same size, if not bigger than Spooky!!)

If I could only teach him how to unlatch the lid, get a cup full of food and put it in their dish without him spilling it everywhere!   :D
