:(  Was just diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome three weeks ago..I was glad they finally found out wha'ts wrong with me, but not glad to have an illness..I am a 44 year old woman.   I got to feeling so bad before they diagnosed me that I have anemia, and almost no B12 levels..  No energy at all, but it's getting a little better with  meds.

Hi Goodheart,

Let me also welcome you to the SJS World and family!  I'm sorry to have to meet you this way, but I'm sure glad that you've found us!

I don't have anemia, but my B-12 is usually at the low end of the scale and I know what you mean about the lack of energy; there are days.

Take care of yourself and I hope that you start feeling better soon -

Hi goodheart  :)

Welcome to Sjogren's world. We all go to doctors in the hopes they will make us better don't we? No one wants to know they are stuck with an illness that will last a life time. There is life after SjS though! In most cases meds can alleviate a lot of the symptoms and I bet getting you B12 up to what it should be will help a lot.

I hope you find the site useful. It's certainly griendly and supportive.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Welcome!  Soooo glad you finally got "officially" diagnosed so there is a name for it.  For some of us it takes soooo long for that.

I was officially diagnosed in March 2009 after a 6 yr journey of specialist to specialist. Even my own gp changed his attitude of specialists thinking they were all so durn smart. HaHa!  ::)

Glad the meds are helping you. Now you get to work on what I refer to as "the 5 stages of grief" to get your head around it.  I got settled with it long ago as 3 yrs prior to diagnosis I had a specialist tell me he was sure it was cancer but durn I wasn't sick enough. Sorry but Excuse me?   ???  When I was finally diagnosed my #s espec ANA was sooo high it was a certainty

It is an adjustment but you will learn to deal with it in time.
There is some comfort in at least knowing what it is.

Goodheart,,, I saw you were low on B12,,,, the normal levels in the US are pretty broad,,,, the Japanese consider anything under 500 to be low,,, so get it up there as much as you can,,,
