Hello all,

I went to my first sjogren's support group today.  It was in KC and they had an ENT talk to us and give out samples.  It was really informative.  It sounds like several people are on evoxac.  I still have decent saliva during the day but dry as a bone at night, I love the biotene spray at night.  My eyes are what cause me my most pain.  Would evoxac cause more liquid in my eyes???????  Can you take this with plaquenil?

Cheryl

Hi Jessica,
Yes, you can take Evoxac with Plaquenil.   I take both.   The Evoxac does not help my dry eyes, though; sorry!

I take both and the Evoxac does NOT help with dry eyes.  It goes work for more saliva though.  Lucy

Evoxac helps mouth and nose, a little with my eyes, you don't notice it until you stop taking it.  It may not effect everyone the same and I still have use eye drops.

My Rheumy really likes Evoxac and keeps putting me back on it but Evoxac doesn't give me enough saliva and doesn't help with the eyes at all.  I have gone back to Pilocarpine which gives me more saliva but only works for 3-4 hours per pill.  It simply works better overall for me.  As for the eyes, I use Restasis and am grateful for it.  In the beginning my eyes looked like blood and I could barely have them open at all.  After a few mos on Restasis, my eyes were blue (and white) again.  Hope you try it.  Diane

I take evoxac and plaquenil.

When I first started Evoxac, it helped with my eyes a little.  As my eyes have gotten worse, I haven't noticed as much of an impact from the Evoxac, though it still helps increase my saliva production.

As for Restasis, I take that, too.  My husband thinks it helps me, but I don't notice much of a difference.  For some people, like Diane, it can be amazing, though.

Jessica:

I just posted on my own post from a few weeks ago - I have been using this product TheraLife Autoimmune Dry Eye that seems to relief my dry eye for me.  My eyes are less light sensitive, comfortable.  If I feel the dryness come on, I take a few more pills.  Nice to have tear secreted from inside out that is sustainable.

It is still too early to tell if this formula can decrease or control the lesions in my mouth- still too early.
