I went to 2 appts Tuesday and my brain was just completely in the "off" position I guess...it just was not a functioning day for it at all and I had a couple of good and funny blunders...but I wonder what the people really thought when I said it? Good thing I can laugh it off and most of the time people do too....I yiyiyiyiyiy!

The first one the woman at the ophthalmologist office asked what kind of contact lenses I was wearing so she could get me a case and wetting solution...I wanted to say I have rigid gas permeable...but I forgot to say all of it and said...I have gas! What the heck??? She and I just laughed about it and she said..I know what you mean but what was that about???  ;D

Then when I was having a scan done later that morning, they were trying to put the IV's in and couldn't get them to stay in the veins....was getting everyone a little nervous and I was bruising so they called in the IV team. I meant to say I have good veins in my hands but instead I told her I have hands!

I'm surprised they didn't ship me off to the psych unit.... :o

Lynnmarie . . . you poor thing.  Some times it just happens.  Do you by chance use shorthand in your job?  You were just giving the shortened version of things.   ;D

Take care . . . . oh . . . . and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMORROW!!!    ;D   ;D

Hugs,
Bucky

Oh my Lynnmarie, I thought I was the only one that did that!  I've done it so much with the thyroid doctor that she just ignores it, or maybe she's learned alien - Patze style!  ;) :D

And Happy Birthday a bit early!!!!!

I just had to laugh when i read your post!!! I have turned into a blubbering idiot!!! I used to pride myself on having a good vocabulary and pronouncing things correctly-WELL NOT ANYMORE!!!! I call it "sometimers" because sometimes i can speak and it comes out ok, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes i can finish what i am saying and not lose my train of thought, and sometimes i can't!!!!
I was working on medical history/symptoms history list this morning, because Monday i have an appointment with a neurologist and didn't want to sound like a complete idiot!!!!! So, in my moments of clarity, i thought i better write them down!!!!  Good Lord, SJS is a gift that keeps on giving!!!!!! You just gotta laugh!

Cally57

Oh my I have done that so many times....sometimers.  I like that!!!
My daughter says talk "right"!!!  Then we laugh.....gotta laugh.  But its so weird!

lynnmarie219

Cally,

We "gotta laugh" is right...if we cant laugh about it whats the alternative? I would rather laugh for sure!! :D

I started taking Acetyl L Carnitine (ALC) and Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) for brain fog when I could no longer keep my train of thought with the children in my classes. After two years now I am looking at doing programming. It has been years since I have thought in these languages.

What I am getting at is that the fog is clearing.
