Well all I was looking for was understanding about protein powders as I am looking to become more healthier eater. Good Lawd! What shock! I might have just come upon the trigger to our brain fog! We all know by now to stay away from MSG, but what about protein powders and other stuff, just listen to the footage. I have never taken the powder, but only God knows what else I've taken in to dummy me up to the point I can't half speak a clear sentence, let alone write one! ::) ::)

Never really thought about Toxins affecting my brain after all I stay away from most chemicals and such other known toxins. What about meats!!!!

Guess fruits and vegetables are the ONLY trusted way to be healthier! Shoot I had so hoped for something else!

If you are eating fruits and veggies from foreign countries, other than Canada....you may be surprised at what is sprayed on them and what kind of soil and water is used to grow these things...

Milk products are yet another issue, so is fish.

Cans are lined with BPA.  American's are FULL of BPA.

The food industry is way too centralized and a mess.  Food is hauled very long distances.

If you can buy from local producers, especially organic producers in your area, it helps.

I eat a lot of frog legs, so maybe that's where my brain fog comes from.  Like Inga I will not knowingly buy any fruits or vegetables from outside the U.S, Europe or Canada.  Unfortunately you don't always know where the fruit of veggies are from and I almost never eat any canned foods.

I went to WalGreens today to buy beauty products and the salewoman and I were talking about lip moisturizers, I told her I use vaseline and chapstick, how bout she had to say there are so many toxins in both. I left thinking to myself Wow! What ain't got toxins in it, how am I to live a healthy lifestyle if everything I think to use is toxic?

I  know a man who was told by his doctor that his memory problems could very well be from drinking too much diet soda. The doctor told him artificial sweeteners have been linked to memory problems and rheumatoid arthritis. I know I sure chew a lot of sugarless gum and candy . Due too my dry mouth.I'm glad I don't like pop of any kind. Interesting though .All the stuff that is added too the food supply none of it is a big suprise really .
primary sjogrens, adderall xr, diclofenac ,vitamin d3, percocet, b12,b6, omega3, ibuprofen, protonix, voltaren gel, lots of sugarless gum and candy.

I do realize they put alot of harmful things in foods, but it just seems every thing I think I will try to be more healther, SOMETHING is wrong with it.

I am not used to looking a labels or dieting and such. All my life I ate what I wanted to eat, when I wanted to eat and how ever much I wanted, NOW? all of this being mindful of EVERYTHING is too much. I'm to the point I don't know where to begin.

I figure I will try and eat healthier. But I can't be consumed with looking at every label . Most of the damage is done now. So I will do the best I can but I have to much other stress too start looking up everything I eat.

That's what I'm talking about! But I need to loss weight and between the toxins in EVERYTHING I just don't want to do more damage. I would like to at least be smart again even if I have to remain overweight.

For most of us it's too late to worry about what's in our food, we have been poisoned our entire life by radiation, pesticides, lead, PVC and mercury just to name a few.  Do you get a perm or have your hair dyed?  If you do remember that hair dressers have a high rate of bladder cancer.  I don't hear the Ladies talking about abandoning there beauty aids, now do I? ;D

Bernice

Epson, I have come away from perms and dyes because they are too hard on my hair making hair dry. I must admit since doing so my hair is so much healthier.

I went today for beauty supplies like moisturizers and such, that I need at all cost! >:( ::) ::) ::) ::) >:( >:( ;D ;D ;D ;D

Good move Bernice, I have been telling this to my wife for years to no avail about the dangers of these chemicals. Two weeks ago she had a root job and got some color on her finger which split open her skin and just wont heal, now she is wondering what it's doing to her insides.  I told her that it has already effected her brain :D

I have never used much make up.  My eyes are sooo dry now that I don't even think of using mascara or other eye make up.  I had to give up my contacts...there is literally NO tear film.

If I smear anything on my face, my skin rages at me, and all the junk ends up in my eyes anyway, even sunblock.  I have a wonderful pink to red rash smack dab in the middle of my face....and it hurts too.

I make my own organic soaps, and bar shampoo or use only baby shampoo.  (I love to dabble.)

I grow my own veggies and fruit, can and freeze the stuff....buy stuff grown in the US or Canada.  It means you have to eat in season and people don't like that.  I use organic milk which comes from local producer, and it costs a fortune.  You can get organic products at lots of stores.  I don't use ALL organic, but we have switched as much as we can afford and have access too.

As far as damage being done...yes....it is done.  We are full of PFOAs.  If you do one thing, get rid of non-stick pans.  I assisted my daughter on a paper she did for grad school on the stuff and we are full of it, and it makes me sick that world governments let things get this bad.  Get rid of as much BPA as you can...hard plastic bottles, and cans are the worst.  It is also in flame retardant, so, what can you do?  It is banned in many countries.  It will be banned in baby bottles here soon.

As far as losing weight, Bernice, the best foods for losing weight are the most natural ones...prepared foods are most high in sugars, preservatives, colors, etc.  Not all additives are toxic, they are just given in chemical names.  Some foods are best bought as organic...do a net search on the best foods to buy organic, these are food that retain pesticides and herbicides if they are sprayed.  For example, it is very hard to grow apples without chemicals....it is therefore best to pay the big bucks and get organic apples.  Green beans are easy to grow and generally not as badly mauled with chemicals, you can go cheaper on these.

If you can't afford organic, at least go local, so your foods are fresher.  Hit the local farmers markets, and also try a container garden.

Yes, I am still known to cave for a Snickers bar....Ok, maybe two or three, and add a pan of brownies.

(Mind you, I need help with all this stuff....one word, hubby.  I would drop the lye all over me, and I can't work a rototiller, but I am mean on a garden tractor.)

Bernice

I'm going to check on organic products in my area. I do one of my biggest problems is I do NOT cook! I pick up stuff on the way home, we eat out all the time!

I need to buy friuts and vegs. that I can wash off and eat without cooking cause I know from past I will buy a lot of stuff planning to eat better, but that stuff stays in my fridge until it's time to throw out! I ain't cooking nothing, so I need not even try to convince myself that I will. My husband tells me not to even bother going gro. shopping because it's a waste of money, I always think this time I will cook this stuff!

I am on the go all the time so when I am home I am doing laundry or just resting, that kitchen is the last thing on my mind except to make sure THEY keep it clean!
