Hi  :)

My son was trying to get in touch with me yesterday but I missed him. (He's in the US and I'm in the UK and we're not always online at the same time)

Tonight his wife caught me - and asked if I could stay online till my son got home cos he was wanting to speak to me.

Now this had me a bit worried because he was dxd with Crohn's last year and has had a bad flare recently and I know was going for investigations last week. Also his wife told me he had just been put on another lot of antibiotics.

Anyway - he came home - got the videolink going - and asked me if his Dad was around cos he wanted to talk to both of us at the same time. (Ominous)

" You know I've been ill recently" he said. "Well Jess (his wife) and I must have been to the doctors about 8 times in the last month. so I really need to tell you - she had a scan today - and everything's fine - and you're going to be grandparents!"

Well - I wanted to share! Apparently grandchild number one is going to be born next September. It was nice being told face to face even through a video link. Poor hubby found out he was going to be a dad via a letter that took 3 weeks to reach him because he was in the merchant navy and he had to reach a port before the letters arrived.

Aww Scottie, that's wonderful news.  I hope you and granddad are very happy.  September is a good month for a baby.  All the hot weather will be over by then.

Congratulations Scottie, and to your son and his wife.  I pray all goes well for them and the baby is a healthy one.

God Bless,

Hugs, Pooh

Scottie what wonderful news!!!!!!!!!!!!  You and your husband are so blessed.  With all the tech out there today, even if you can't be there it is almost as good.  At least you can see the happy smiles on their faces.  Let us know what the first thing you buy for that new grandbaby.  Whenever a new one is coming a whole new world opens up and you see things in the store you would never had noticed before.  Keep us informed.  I am so happy for your family!!!!!!!!!!

Hi  :)

Thanks all. I suspect I will have a mainly 'cyberspace' relationship with first grandchild. I'm mulling over the idea of trying to visit next Easter. serously doubt being able to make Christmas. I went one Easter before - on my own - and found the trip pretty arduous. I could well be on my own again as hubby has developed a fear of flying. Actually - he seems to have developed a fear of travelling in any direction other than north - where his father and siblings are. All our kids live south but I'm the only one that ever visits. Hoping to change that because now, if I drive for over half an hour, both feet go numb and my right hand won't let go of the steering wheel.

My son lives in Missouri. I think he's just moved to St Peters - was in Chesterfield but he describes both places as being near St Louis.

Take care - Scottie  :)
