I have enjoyed all the stories, too.  And thank you Bucky for hosting this and for the little phrases at the end of each day - really lovely to read  :D   xx

Thank you Bucky, my neighbor to the west (formerly my neighbor to the east).  Do you suppose the geese heading north are telling us we are going to have a warm winter?  We can only hope!   :D

I have also enjoyed reading these posts....and I especially liked the quotes at the end of each of your posts Ms. Bucky!

Thanks for being such a gracious host!

Thanks so much - this has been a lot of fun, and nice to hear what other people are doing outside. I'm going to keep going with this on my own.

Good afternoon everyone.   ;D  I have been feeling guilty all morning that I haven't been outside for my 10 minutes and then coming inside to post.  I DID go outside this afternoon and took a walk down our long driveway to get the mail and then walked around the yard.  It figures, today is wasn't raining . . . it rained for almost a third of the time during our 30 days!!   ::)  Maybe Linda was right, it will become a habit for us.   :D  Although, when it gets in the single digits during winter . . . I'm not so sure about that!!  LOL

I have one more quote that I had picked out that I didn't have time to post, so I will do it now.  "When talking to your doctor, don't let him or her interrupt or end the session early.  It's your body and your money.  Stay until all your questions are answered to your satisfaction."   H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

I quoted from H. Jackson Brown, Jr. on many occasions during our 30 days.  He has a wonderful book called Life's Little Instruction Book.  This is a book of advice that he jotted down for his son, Adam, who was heading off to college.  I quoted from Volume II - as H. Jackson had more advice to give his son after his first book.   ;D   My copy of his book has all these yellow tabs sticking out everywhere highlighting the ones I really liked.

Have a good weekend.   ;D

Kathyx - I'm sorry the doctor didn't have good news for you at your appointment yesterday.  :(   I will keep you in my thoughts and send you good vibes that time will be on your side and you can wait to deal with this until your next appointment in four months.  Sending you a hug.

;D  ;D  Do you hear what I hear??  ;D   ;D  Woohoo . . . they are in our field harvesting the corn today!!  Yippee!!  Later we'll go out and walk the field and gather ears of corn the combine missed and save them for the deer this winter.  :D

A beautiful, sunny day here in Illinois!!   8)

Enjoy your weekend.

They harvest the crops next door to us at the end of August, is it still dry and warm where you are, Bucky?.  The field was then ploughed (it's around 65 acres), and now all the green shoots are coming through - the dogs love to whizz around in there, and it's far away from the roads so a good safe place to run  ;D

All we have is rain and cold now  ::)

Hey, I'm missing your little daily "words of wisdom"  !!   xx

Bucky

Jaygee - this year the harvesting of crops is way behind schedule as we've had so much rain this year.  Today the temperature was in the 50's.  Not sure what the "normal" temperatures are suppose to be this time of year.   There are still many, many acres and fields of corn still standing that need to be harvested.  This weekend with the sunshine will be very busy for the farmers.

Since I still have all my books here by the computer that I used for my quotes of the day, here's one for you.  "It is of immense importance to learn to laugh at ourselves."      Katherine Mansfield

Enjoy your weekend.

That is a wonderful quote...As most days if I don't laugh I'd just sit and cry.....
besides laughing is more fun.....

I agree with you 100% RobinBat....always good to be able to laugh!

It's been six days since we ended our group commitment to being outside for at least 10 minutes each day.  I must admit - since this 30 day journey ended, I have only been outside daily on a few occasions.   :(  Here in the U.S., tomorrow is our Thanksgiving Day.  I hope at some point in the day that we will all get outside (and away from all the food) to get some fresh air and possibly a walk in.  I know being outside DID make me feel better during our 30 day commitment.   ;D

Have a great day.

Ohiocat . . . . oh no, not yet.  That will take place some time during the early winter months of 2010 when we are buried up to our eyeballs in snow!!   :o  LOL  Actually, we don't get as much snow here in IL where I'm at as we used to get when I lived in Ohio.  Being in NE Ohio and getting all that lovely lake effect snow, we'd get dumped on!!  (Geauga County).

So, if you gathered some leaves . . . hang on to them . . . it's NOT time to get them out yet.   ;D
