Didn't Bucky have a great idea!   I just caught up on reading everyone's posts.   It's refreshing to visualize all of you spending time outdoors, especially with nature.
Thought I'd share my outdoor time from today:  My husband & I went to Fall Creek Falls State Park (Eastern TN) for lunch and a little walking.   The scenery was beautiful.  Our leaves are still in color, and there is just a little chill in the air.  It was a perfect fall day!
Hope you all have good outdoor time this week!

Well yesterday I didn't get east of the mountains (not able to get up in time for my ride), so my husband and I walked around the neighborhood and spent time at our local bookstore/restaurant, a neighborhood hangout if ever there was one. The trick-or-treating started early yesterday, and we have a whole new crop of kids on the block, so we were handing out candy for several hours that evening!

Today I was in the garden all day, weeding, cleaning up leaves and trimming back the perennials, and I planted 8 new kinds of lilies for next summer. It was a lovely, mild, sunny autumn day, very unusual here as by now it is the rainy season. Now it's time for a  hot bath.

Day 13

Happy Monday everyone!   ;D  (I heard those moans!!  hee hee)  Today is Day 13 of our 30 day commitment to being outside for at least 10 minutes each day.

The weekends go by way too quickly!  This morning as I stepped out onto the back step you could hear the sounds of everyone being busy and hurrying to start their day.  We live about 4 miles off a main road.  Because of the woods and the way our house sits, I can hear traffic (especially the big 18-wheelers) from that road at our house.  Normally, I don't really notice the road traffic.  This morning I could hear all the trucks hurrying to get to their next stop to unload or load and then move on.  My husband used to be an OTR (over the road) truck driver.  They are left with nearly impossible time frames to get their loads from point A to point B.  I always complain to my hubby that those drivers drive way too fast! I was almost creamed by a careless 18-wheeler driver about 12 years ago . . but, that's another story.

As I look out across our empty, bare back yard, I wish that Genko was my neighbor.  Genko, I have the perfect blank canvas for you to create your beautiful, peaceful, relaxing garden in.  The closest I will get to your beautiful gardens is thru your pictures.   ;D

I hope everyone has a good day.  Keep up the good work with your daily 10 minutes outside.  (You know, I have been sleeping better at night . . . has anyone else?).

After three nights in a row of my daughter's dance shows, my body was just worn out. I woke up Saturday morning aching everywhere with a sore throat.

It was hot and dry here in Southern Cali so I'm afraid between just feeling awful and the weather I didn't go outside at all over the weekend. I barely made it off the couch actually.

Will get back on it today!

Lucky day 13- since my legs are still annoyed with me from yesterday, I just sat outside in the lovely autumn sunshine for a while. Kind of forgot that the deceptively chilly wind would get to me if I wasn't active, so I was a bit cool when I came in, but since I'm generally overheated, it was a good thing!

Yes, sitting down outside counts!

Today I was outside for about 90 minutes finishing up tasks in the garden - straining leaves out of the small pond/waterfall, raking, trimming back the irises, and harvesting chard for dinner. Then I took my sister to lunch, and we walked around the university area a bit, looking at the shops. Glad we did it when we did, because the temperature dropped about 15 degrees while we were down there and it began to rain as we were driving home, so we went inside to warm up and have tea.

The next two days are supposed to warmer and brighter, so we'll see.

Genko, we are only having highs of 42 for the next few days in Michigan, but the weekend might be to 60.  I'll have to put on my bathing suit.  My luck and it will be raining.  We have been getting alot of that.  Lucy

Day 14

Good morning, Happy Tuesday everyone!   ;D  Today is Day 14 of our 30 day commitment to being outside for at least 10 minutes each day.  Wow, I can't believe we're almost at the half-way point in our 30 day venture.  I hope everyone is getting outside at some point during the day.

This morning I split my time between the back step and the front porch.  I decided to wander over to the little strip of woods at the North side of our house.  Sure enough, Mr. (or Mrs.) Rabbit was there.   :D  Now that the leaves have fallen from the trees, I noticed the shiny reflection of our neighbors truck windshield thru the woods across the ravine.  Our privacy that the trees and woods provide is gone somewhat in the winter months.  The only time I can "see" anything at this neighbors house is when the sun is reflecting off something in their driveway.  In the front of our house, the cornfield, which is still standing and not harvested yet, blocks the other neighbors house.  Again, now that the leaves are gone off the trees there stands that tall, ugly, blinking cell tower on our neighbors property.  Grrrrrrrrrr  Two years ago I petitioned against it  being built and got 50 signatures from neighbors against it too.  It's almost impossible to win against big corporate America.   :(  But, I taught our son about standing up for what you believe in.  He even spoke up at the Zoning Commission hearing.  I was so proud of him.   :D

I hope everyone has a good day today.  The sun is shining here this morning, hope it is shining for you today too.   ;D

Day 15

Happy Wednesday everyone!   ;D  Today is Day 15 of our 30 day commitment to being outside for at least 10 minutes each day.  We're at the half-way point today!!!   ;D  We have 15 more days left of our little venture.

To date we have 41 members who are participating in this venture.  Lynnmarie is number #41.

This morning I spent time out in the back yard.  Traffic was very busy today - everyone is in a hurry to get to work (why would anyone HURRY to work??  LOL).  Where I live we're located 3-1/2 miles between too main roads thru Illinois.  Even though it is a rural area, the traffic on these two roads is very busy.  People from out in the country heading to the city and the truck drivers traveling cross country.  I also live across the street from the Caterpillar Proving Grounds (where they test the Caterpillar equipment).  I would love that job . . . driving the big machinery moving dirt around!!   :D  This morning I could hear the beep, beep, beep of them backing up.  Depending on the wind direction, some days you can hear their activity over there more than others.  Plus, it depends if they are working on my end of the grounds or if they are working farther West.

I would imagine the next few days that our field will be busy with activity as they harvest the corn crop (we lease our land to a farmer).  It will be nice to have the corn down - I've been looking at it from my front window for the last six months.  Once they harvest the corn, then the deer will be out in the field eating the corn left behind.  Several years ago there were 40 deer out there all at one time!!   :o  The most I've seen lately is about 15 at a time.  The sun is shining brightly this morning.   :D  Plus we've got the pretty baby blue sky with puffy clouds.  My favorite clouds.   Wish I had time to go for a walk this morning but it's a very busy day and I have no time for a walk right now.  :(

Have a great day!!   ;D

P.S.  Please also keep our members who are having family health problems in your thoughts.  It is stressful enough some times with our daily lives and then add in other factors outside our control and it adds more stress and worry.   Having support from our fellow Sjoggies is a comfort.

I forgot to post yesterday...I was outdoors! LOL I'm finding this a great excuse to get out and grab some pictures of landscapes that appeal to me, so that's what I did yesterday, and today (when I get finished running errends) I hope to go on another photo jaunt.

Even if I don't do that, my errends will take me to the city, and I do love walking around our uptown area, there's a couple of very old parks and an over 200 year old burial ground right at the head of our main street, and it's always a great place for wandering and people watching. We're still enjoying a beautiful Indian summer, a bit brisk, but sunny.

Yesterday was doctor's appointments day for my daughter. (Still trying to figure out why a fifteen year old is having so much back pain.) In between appointments we went to the mall and got some lunch, sitting outside to eat it. I've been feeling so rundown lately it was hard to really enjoy it, but any time I get to sit and just talk to my daughter is a good time.  ;D

Chickpea

We're having a week of sunshine and showers, with stormy nights.  The sunshine has been lovely: early in the morning it had that watery, wintry quality with a clear blue sky;  later in the day it was warmer as it came through the autumn leaves.

We're in the process of moving to an apartment and each time we visit it I love it more.  When we popped in today the sunshine was streaming in through the windows and it looked so welcoming.  I think we'll be happy there.  It's been a rollercoaster of emotions deciding to move, finding somewhere suitable, and then the logistics of moving our possessions.  It's good to feel positive now.

Tomorrow both my sons will be home so I'm hoping there will be time for a trundle in my wheelchair along the seafront.  The cliffs are magnificent along this part of the south coast - something I'll miss when we move nearer to the centre of Brighton.

Hope you're all having a good day.

With love to all - Chickpea

Thank you for keeping us moving! I managed a 10 minute walk at lunchtime, just to arrange for an eye-brow tidy tomorrow lunchtime. My poor eyebrows are sadly neglected, so I'm feeling very positive to have, at long last made, the appointment.

It's been very wet and cold here in West Yorkshire. I think we are in for a frost tonight, ahead of Bonfire night.

Keep warm everyone.

It's cold, very wet and miserable here  ::)   It rained so hard last night that the haybarn got flooded - so glad I store my hay on wooden pallets!   I really miss daylight this time of the year, as I go to work and come home in the dark  >:(  My lovely friend came to help with the horses this evening.  When it's winter, I find it hard to muck out both stables plus walk the dogs, when hubby is away on business.  Plus, it's been so wet they had to stay in their stables all day today, so they were a little grumpy  ;D.  I put them out for a while this evening for some fresh air and a wander around, but they were glad to come back in again, out of the wet for a groom and some nice apples and carrots with their tea :D

After seeing to the horses, I took the dogs for a walk across the crop fields, which are now ploughed and starting to shoot up sprigs of green.  Fortunately it had stopped raining for the time I was out walking the dogs.  Even though we are at least half a mile away from any street lighting, the moon lit everything in a beautiful, silvery light, and I smiled as I splashed through the puddles and watched Chloe race around the fields - she goes so fast you wouldn't believe (but then she is a greyhound x whippet, so built for speed  ;D).  Funny, I never feel worried on my own out there, in the dark.  Maybe because it's home?

I've been quite well today, feeling less tired than usual.  Hope everyone else had a good day  :D      xx
