I also have a fatty liver. I'm not fat, don't drink or smoke.

My doc said it could be caused by medication and it was benign for me.  That was it for me.  Of course, your case may be totally diferent from mine.

Maybe you could look up 'fatty live causes" and see what pops up.

wishing you the best and a speedy return home.

Hi Tinker,

After researching this for a few days, I think I can say that causes found so far are:

Poor High Fat/Sugar Diet
Constant Alcohol Intake
Being Overwieght
Lack of Exercise

Those are the run of the mill reasons normally seen or heard.

Others less common are:
Drug Induced, rarer yet does happen.
Insulin Resistance/Glucose Issues/Diabetes,Metabolic Syndrome
or Syndrome X
hypercholesterolemia associated with metabolic disorders/diabetes/hypothyroidism.

And yet... the true understanding of how exactly why a liver is becoming fatty is yet to be understood, as well as how or why peoples Livers progress from a Liver becoming Fatty to eventual Liver Failure or and Liver Cancer.
Basically they dont know ..yet !?

Though hopefully sooooon..research will figure this out and save many lives.
