How to log in chat rooms???????????

READ / FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS

I Selected Chat Now.

I have sjogrens world as trusted site.

I downloaded Java.

I even tried copying and pasting link in address bar.

I get to the page but NOTHING Ever HAPPENS . BLANK BOX WITH SMALL x / NOTHING ABOUT SECURITY OR ANYTHING ELSE!

Please if anyone can walk me through, maybe I am still doing something wrong. Maybe a FOG???

I doubt that it's anything you did or didn't do, I'm more inclined to believe its your computer settings, especially if you just downloaded Java for the first time.

In your internet options [Start/control panel/internet options] there is an "advanced" tab. Try opening that, and scroll down to the "Java" listing. there should be a box under that beside a line that says "use whatever Java". If that box isn't checked, it should be, and once you check it, you will have to restart your computer.

Give that a try, and if your still having trouble, let me know and I'll introduce you to our technical master, AlienDog...if she can't get you into chat, no one can!

First of all Thank You!

But I do not have JAVA "use whatever Java". Mine is an older model laptop using XP,  I don't know if that matters.

I only have, which is already checked:
JAVE (SUN)
Use JRE 1.6.0_14 for <applet> (Requires restart)

Well, you're on the right track..I run a laptop with XP too, and that's the line I meant, some systems are just worded a bit differently.

I'm going to ask AlienDog for her input, hopefully we can get you into chat!

Hi there Bernice....

I think all you will need to do is reboot your computer ... unless yuo have already turned it off, and then try again to get into the chat.  I will try to monitor this conversation in case you need more assistance.  

I am the technical wizard here, so I hope I can get yuo to the chat room!
