Hi guys sorry havent been on in awhile, Jenna is out of school now for summer and its a challenge to say the least.  I wondered if you guys have any ideas for indoor games for her?  Hope everyone is well,  Hugs and Kissess   Jonnell and Jenna

Hi Jenna,
When I use to keep my grandson, we use to camp out in the livingroom.  We built a tent with the diningroom chairs and either blankets or sheets.  We would face 2 chairs in on one side and 2 chairs facing in on the other side.  If you face the chair with the seat in, it won't tip if the cover is pulled.  Then cover with the sheet. 

We would eat lunch in there and read books and send each other out for something special, like a cookie or teddy bear to nap with.  He loved it. 

Then when I kept my granddaughter we would play "Suzie Homemaker" in the morning.  She would help me do the breakfast dishes, make beds, empty trash baskets ( her brother use to help too).  Then in the afternoon we would have a tea party or bake cookies.  Oh, and in the morning we would always watch Winnie the Pooh cartoons.  That was a must. 

If Jonnel is old enough, you could teach her to crochet or knit, if you know how.  I had a grand time teaching my granddaughter, she is left handed and I'm right handed.  I would sit in front of a vanity mirror and she would watch my image in the mirror.  It worked out great. 

I'm sure others will have some wonderful ideas for you.

Ooh yes!  We used to make a variety of cards for every eventuality - get well, birthday, thankyou, Christmas etc.  We did potato prints, collage, glitter, photo cards etc and everyone seemed to like having an individually crafted card.

My girls used to love those sewing card starter kits, moving on to using aida cloth (the tablemat cloth with the holes already in it to sew through) Another good idea when it's too hot to be outside is to do some 'sink play' - let Jenna put her bather on and stand at the sink.  She can bathe all the barbies, wash up non breakables etc.

We also used to make play dough - I'm sure you can find the recipe on the net.  The trouble with all my ideas is that they are all really messy!  You can always make tidy-up part of the play though.

Jonnell, Books on tape from the library are great for her age, a spray bottle filled with water so that she can help "clean" the house, a bowl filled with dried beans and measuring spoons/cups to play with while you are cooking.  The tent idea is great, I used to spread old sheets over the kitchen table and this gave them a great area under the table as a fort.  Old clothes and shoes from your closet or from yard sales that she can use as a dress up box.  Good luck.
