Sorry about that, that is rough. Did you take it with food? Sometimes if I take it without food I get irritation. I also read on here somewhere that sometimes that happens at first but then it gets better. I hope you get better soon!

I had a lot of stomach pain with Plaquenil, but it didn't show up until I had worked up to taking 1.5 pills for a week.  I started slowly.  Anyway, I lost my appetite and had pain.

However, recently my husband and I have had a stomach virus.  Intestinal cramps, diarrhea, loss of appetite and fatigue (on top of my regular fatigue, lol.)

Cport,
You have to eat something with the Plaquenil.  If it is bothering you, try to take one pill a day for about a week or even 2 weeks.  Then take your second pill before bed with some yogurt or even ice cream. ;D  Something that will coat your digestive tract. (even milk) I take mine after I eat breakfast and then after dinner.  It's never bothered me this way.

ALWAYS take this medication with food.  If you have other medication to take, make sure you take this one by itself with food.  Then wait about 1/2 hour to take other medications.

Some people have no problem with the Plaq, while others of us do.  It does however work great with Sjogren's.

If you still have problems with it, please let your prescribing doctor know.
