They come in sizes 

The last set I had put in were like hair brush bristles, and were frozen.  They were steaming in the room temperature of the office!  Apparently they expand to fit, on body temperature 

I didn't know there were permanent, removeable, ones, and I have had some difficult with mine which I won't bore you with, but given the option would go for permanent but removable ones.
